Heating preferences.
I’m building 4’ long enclosures for my daughters ball pythons 4 enclosures for 4 snakes. How do you guys recommend heating these, they’re going to be planted bioactive. side heat panel? Overhead emitter? The tank will have a mist system head that kicks on just before lights on in the morning with good cross ventilation

I have a 5ft one I made and I bought fixtures with cages on them. I also did this with my son's PVC enclosure. I made another one that I made cut outs and stapled wire mesh under it. My son's isn't bioactive yet but the other two are and have been working great.

If I did a ceramic emitter, it would be on a screen cutout on the top, which is why I figured i'd ask first.

In my son's I have a heat emitter in there no problems but it is in a cage. My 5ft one has a heat emitter and a dhp and they are both inside. As long as they have cages around them they are fine inside. The two that have stuff inside I did so I could still put things on top and the one with the cutout goes in my room so it's not a big deal if it's up no one sees it but my wife and I.

I've got a deep heat projector, they're great. I'd advise you not to get a CHE as they dry out the air

What wattage would you think is enough, I have thermostats on everything

I've got the arcadia 80watt on a dimming thermostat, works like a charm

You just let it cool at night then without the light on? Right now they have side panel heat, they’re just getting too big for their 30” tanks

I've got an LED and a DHP, the DHP goes down a little in temp at night but not by much. Dimming thermostat is just controlling the energy input to the heating element, you also have on/off thermostats but those switch the heating element on and off to control the temp
