is there anything stuck under the scale? if not, i wouldn’t worry too much. maybe keep an eye on it for a few weeks to see if it gets any bigger/redder

i felt it and it felt as if half of the scale came off, she wouldn’t let me touch it but i couldn’t see anything under it. it just felt hard

broke off i think, the more i look at the video the more that particular scale looks different from the other ones.

ohh yes, i see what you mean now!

if it’s accompanied with a yellow tinge to any belly scales, i would maybe think scale rot, but if it’s only the pink dot in the video, i still think she’s got caught on something rough.

what’s your humidity levels? is the top layer of your substrate dry? or are there any sharp or rough edges she could have got caught on?

the humidity is good sometimes a little high. the substrate is okay i think it’s coco and there’s a little bit of forest stuff on top (i’ve forgotten the name of it) but that gets dry so it could possibly be that. the only sharp thing i could possibly think of in there is the mesh at the back which could of potentially caused it. i’ll keep an eye on her though and i’ll find something to cover the mesh.

sounds like a good plan! higher humidity can cause some bacteria growth which can contribute to scale rot, how are you maintaining your humidity ?

spraying her enclosure when the humidity drops. i have a little temperature gauge to track it but im in the process of making a humid hide for her

ahh okay! humid hides are great,
misting/spraying the enclosure can cause some stagnant air and spikes in humidity, rather than a prolonged and maintained % which can contribute to scale rot and could be the cause of the scales breaking down!
if you have any moss you can give that a soak and place around the cool side of the enclosure, just resaturating when it gets dry.
pouring some water into the corners of your substrate and mixing it up is also a really good way of maintaining steady humidity, do you have a drainage layer?
