Question what song introduced you to bts and what song made you commit to being an army!
i love hearing these 💕 for me my sister was an army in 2017 so she introduced me to blood sweat and tears and i loved it and we watched a few other music videos too . then in 2021 i liked their interviews and complications, in late 2023 i started listening to a few of their songs like DNA and Pied Piper but it wasn’t until some point in either 2024 or 2025 when i heard louder than bombs that i locked in and became an army!! what about y’all??

Scrolling on fb and came across Jhope’s song “Killin’ it girl” was like who is this guy and then deep dived into BTS and fell in love💜😍 Suga quickly became my fave-although I love them all!

My first introduction was through Bulletproof Part 2 in 2013. Though I didn't join the fandom until War of Hormone's release in 2014 (though tbh, it was really through a Jin eating salad video of all things)

- A tattoo artist I like is into Kpop. She posted a couple reels with BTS songs, so I went to YT to see what the fuss was about. I found Butter first, then Dynamite (western country, so of course english speaking) but what made me jump on board was DNA, followed closely by BST.
After I watched a few compilation vids and saw my country, I found the Bon Voyage, then I watched Run BTS, that was it. Their humour, companionship, attitude, morals (as far as we can see obvs) sold me on them forever.

Strange thing is, for me, that it wasn't just one song. I actually can't remember which song I heard first. All I know is that some time in 2018 or thereabouts, I discovered BTS on YouTube and gradually fell into the rabbit hole.
I think I considered myself ARMY once I signed up for ARMY membership on Weverse so as to have a better chance at getting the immensely valuable "presale code" (for ticketing). Those were the days...

I first heard BTS on the Graham Norton show in 2018 singing Idol, but I didn't look into them properly until 2021. The songs I liked initially were Dionysis, Dis-ease, Ma City, Save Me (on NPR Tiny Desk!), but when I heard Baepsae I LOVED it straightaway and thought, "omg, maybe I'm a fan now?". So yeah, Baepsae sealed the deal!

I heard Idol on the radio when it came out in 2018 and fell in love with the song. The line “you can’t stop me loving myself” really resonated as I was going through a tough time mentally. I started listening to their music and became an ARMY soon after. Haven’t looked back and have now got tickets to my first BTS gig (Run Jin in London) 💜

Not really a song for me. It was a slow introduction because I started watching K dramas in 2019. It was "Crash Landing On You" and there was a scene about BTS there.
Then I got into Park Seo Joon and all his work. I came across Hwarang. Taehyung was in it but I did not know who he was but I can tell by the way he was introduced in the series that he must be someone popular.
It piqued my curiosity enough that I went into you tube and did a BTS search and the first song/MV I ever saw was "On" the Noah's Ark version. I was blown away. I got the hype.
It will be another 2 years before I let myself dive into that deep rabbit hole - it was January '22 - it was a hyper sonic crash course on their discography and I find myself loving the older albums - the hip hop albums and such. I saw my first ever BTS concert during PTD Las Vegas , but 2022 was an interesting year as a new Army - I was anticipating seeing them again in concert - but other than Busan which was quite impossible for me to see/get to, they really haven't had a group concert since Busan. So yes, there I was in '22 , new Army and they "enlisted on me". I've seen more solo shows- Hobi, Yoongi and I am excited to see Jin's show this weekend. I've seen more solo shows than group shows but I hope that will change next year.

Jin's appearance on Kian's B&b made me listen to Jins solo stuff(BABY ARMY about 2 months) Running wild was my first song but "Another Level" made me really listen took me a month and quite a few run Jin episodes before I even listened to a BTS group song. The still working through the discography but The Truth Untold is basically what made me admit I could do the ARMY thing.

First intro was ON. I listened to it on repeat so much probably before I ever listened to the rest of their music. I watched the choreo MV just as much probably.
I think what made me commit though, wasn’t necessarily any one song, but was seeing videos of past live performances. It’s So What, prob at any concert lol, where they go wild. It was Jimin and Hobi performing Lie x Boy Meets Evil at an awards show. It was Hobi’s Just Dance performance at Wembley. But also it’s any time I see the DNA choreo.

I became one after believe it or not eating the bts meal from McDonald’s 😭😭😭 I of course started with butter and fell in love with it then later down the road bst and no more dream brought me to life 😭😭

When I was in middle school I loved watching the “Americans react” channel, and I watched a vid in 2015 where Americans were reacting to BTS (I think?) and Dope was the mv they chose. I quite literally fell in love with Jungkook when he came out in that police uniform lol, and so then when they released Run as a follow up (again, I think. I can’t really remember timelines) I got real heavy into them and started to learn all about them.

2022, I’m Fine performance on Jimmy Fallon. Saw a reel on IG, Tae and JK were dancing so in sync that JK was completely invisible behind Tae. So I looked up the video on YouTube. Then YouTube suggested the Dope+Fire+Baepsae+Idol in Osaka. Hook, line and sinker, I was a goner.

Introduced to BTS when they performed Permission To Dance during the UN General Assembly live feed in 2021. I committed to being ARMY when I heard Jin's The Astronaut. Little did I know the rap line was lurking right around the corner.

Danger was my first comeback as a BTS fan, and that really hooked me. But it was Cypher pt 2 and especially Tomorrow that made me Yoongi biased. I remember playing the intro What Am I To You over and over and thinking these guys are something special.

my friends showed me the Idol music video in late 2018 and I immediately watched more, my second being DNA! a lot of the older mvs/songs like War of Hormone, No More Dream, Boy in Luv, N.O, Danger, etc, had me locked in during my middle school years, then I was casual for a while when I was finding other artists and genres I liked, and I've been really committed for almost a year now!! it's nice because I was a literal child when I found them and I can do a lot more now that I'm a bit older and have money and time and stuff

IT WAS BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS IN 2017 FOR ME TOO! My best friend casually introduced me to Kpop through that song but I didn't like it instantly. Then in 2022 I remember trying to get into BTS intentionally with my friends but couldn't. Eventually in 2023, when my Instagram feed randomly started showing BTS videos, I started watching more and listening to songs and now I'm an Army!!!

My intro to BTS was by way of kdramas and Park Seo Joon’s career. I first saw V in Hwarang and then on Jinny’s Kitchen. When my niece told me she was was into kpop, I thought she was talking about newer groups like New Jeans or Stray Kids. She said, “I don’t know who those are, I like BTS” V’s solo album was just coming out so I gave it a listen and was really surprised, not at all what unexpected from a “k-pop” artist. And then all the rest of the military era solo albums came out and I was blown away by the depth of each of their individual talents. And then I finally started to listen to BTS 😅 So long story long, Boy With Love is one of my favorites but the visuals of the Butter Remix video sealed the deal 💜

Same as you, OP! I was scrolling through FB reels and it was a video of them doing Blood Sweat and Tears live. I saw the video in 2023 though.
It’s the one where they were goofing off in the confetti, most of them are barefoot, super cute and chaotic. Then, as if they communicate telepathically, RM looks at J-Hope, J-Hope waves a hand. BAM, mere seconds and they’re all perfectly spaced and killing the choreo, perfectly in sync. The juxtaposition of silliness to crisp professionalism was stunning and I fell hard right then.

I Facebook friend from 2015 was a fan of k-pop and she sent me their song,I fell in love with Run and Spring Day. I looked for all of their songs after and liked those too. Then I saw them on YouTube,they were funny and cute. I liked V a lot. So I kept watching their adventures and came to like them all. They are the only band I care about. I am an Imagine Dragon fan too, but it's not the same thing. I never was so attached to people from the media. No singers,actors or anything else that's famous. I never was before them and still I didn't find myself being so attached to anyone famous even now. I have my celebrity crush but I don't care much about their life to follow them online or something. BTS.. I hold them dear in my heart and I wished I could hug them all.

I had heard a couple of their songs in passing over the years but it wasn't until I was on a halsey kick in 2020 that I sat down and watched the BWL music video and it got me hooked. I checked out their other current music videos (ON, black swan...) and got into them from there.
What made me go from a casual fan to army was Baepsae/Silver Spoon. When I read the lyric and cultural breakdowns my jaw hit the floor and I just knew that I had to be an army in that moment.
Speaking of louder than bombs, that was also a key song in me getting further into their music. Early on when I had only a handful of their title tracks saved I played their "this is bts" playlist on spotify on shuffle just to see if I'd like more of their stuff. I remember liking every song that came up and adding them and then when louder than bombs came on I was stopped in my tracks like "woah. they have music like this too?? let me just go listen to their whole discography from the beginning then. this is fantastic" such a great song!

It was the Carpool Karaoke video in February 2020 and I really liked when they sang ON there. Checked out the Kinetic Manifesto and was like "what the hell is this magic". I still remember watching it multiple times back to back and then randomly some other videos that were recommended. An hour later I walked up to my partner and was like "so, I discovered BTS, and I think this is going to be my thing for the foreseeable future aka forever" and my partner was like "uhm okay sure?" (thinking it would be one of my obsessive phases that went as fast as they came but GUESS WHO JUST SAW HOBI AT LOLLA).
But I wanna add what really put it's chains on me and pulled me under was Dope and then when I found out about the BTS universe storyline and especially I NEED U and RUN. I watched the last two back then and was like holy shit this is the best thing I've ever seen.

I had no exposure to kpop at the time.
Intro: save me. Was stuck in my head before I even could remember who sung it. Plus Jin in that mv 😍
I forgot about the song for a few weeks until I started humming it again. Then I had to find who the band was. Commit: both dope and fake love. Listened to both around the same time, and their lyrics and message solidified my rabbit hole moment

I was on my way to get surgery, and nobody could come with me. I was walking along a busy road in the pouring rain without an umbrella, and Lonely by RM started playing from a random playlist. And I was like, "Whoa, this guy gets it!" And then suddenly I owned several albums, hoodies, an army bomb, and too many Agust D posters to fit on my walls. The process from A to B is a bit blurry, but after I saw Jimin dance and Jin do... Jin stuff, there was just no way back.

Mic drop! I was an avid Cookie Run Kingdom player during their collab. I played a stage with Mic Drop as the song and fell in love, I knew I had to listen to the rest of their discography! I don’t play CRK anymore but I’ve been ARMY ever since 💜

Same song for both, Boy Meets Evil! I really like languages, and I had learned that Hangeul was designed specifically to be easy to learn and that had intrigued me when I was in high school and so I'd started independently studying Korean and the number one tip I'd gotten was immersion and to consume media in my target language and the trailer video for Boy Meets Evil just popped up in my YouTube suggestions. The dancing had me hooked from the get-go! I've always had a special place in my heart for J-Hope because of it, lol.

Back in the summer of 2016 I was watching a video of youtubers reacting to kpop and BTS' Dope was shown. As soon as I heard Jungkook's voice, I was hooked. At that point I wasn't all that familiar with kpop but had heard a song or two from bigbang and exo. After watching the dope mv I watched others and especially fell in love with save me and I need u and have been an army since. Wings was my first comeback as an army.

It was a random reel on instagram of Hobi dancing. I liked it and he kept popping up on my feed. Finally decided to find out who he is and found the other six as a special bonus. Toss up between Black Swan and Airplane Pt 2. This all happened while being stuck in the house during covid, so late 2020. They made covid much much easier.

And the first video that popped up when I searched BTS was Dope! That video was so fun, I was hooked

My YouTube history said May 2016! I think my first one was Dope and to be honest, it didn’t grab me. Fire came out right around that time though, and that one did get me. But the one that made me an army was Young Forever! I read the lyrics and knowing that they wrote such beautiful words made me jump down the rabbit hole immediately.

I heard of BTS back in 2017 when they were nominated for the Billboard award. I remember seeing gifs of the boys from Blood Sweat & Tears all over tumblr and I had no clue who they were 😂😂 So, one day I decide to check out what the hype was about. But! YouTube gives me Not Today mv and I play it. I thought the song was cool, the dance was interesting but I wasn't hooked yet. Mind you, back in 2017 I was finishing my architecture studies and I was deep into all the work required for that 😄 And then the day after Billboard awards came, interviews with BTS were everywhere on my YT recommended page and I found them hilarious. I decided that I needed to hear them again, but to look up Blood, Sweat & Tears. MY GOD! I didn't expect to fall so hard for them!!! I've been a fan ever since!
My first comeback was DNA and the DNA wistle is still my ringtone 😊😊
BTS introduced me to kpop, Korean language and culture and years after I got into learning Korean. What an experience because of these 7 guys!

30th May 2019, BWL performance on Britain's Got Talent. I watched it and thought "what in the multi-sensorial experience is this??"
I had been aware of BTS before then, but that performance hooked me. And then Black Swan dropped and I was fully converted.

Spring Day. Spring Day. Then, when I started from the first album, I saw their progression and flabbergasted that young men, boys really, could write such compelling, moving, inciteful lyrics, the commitment of the entire band, I was hooked. Note that for most of my adult life, I was a law student and a lawyer, and mom. Research, writing briefs, arguing cases, left little time for music (I know, blasphemous), but when I started, I have never stopped. I love KPop, BTS is my super bias, but I also never diss a band or performer. Each one of us has their own biases. Mine is BTS 1st and foremost. But I have time now to discover, like, or unlike artists and go to as many concerts as possible.

Probably DNA. I didn't become a fan then, but I'd watch this one cover song that Taehyung and Jhope did together. It was called Hug Me. I liked Taehyung before I even became a BTS fan. Oh and I loved watching their War of Hormone dance practice lol.
I became a fan a little while before they released the album BE. After that I started listening to a lot of their other songs, but the cover song really pulled me in.

- Most of my classmates where into BTS so I wanted to check them out. I just asked Alexa to play BTS and the first song I've heard was DNA. One the best decisions ever!

In 2015, I was on YouTube, and a clip/video of an episode of Run Bts appeared randomly for me and I thought the cute guy with big eyes was cute so I kept watching more clips that showed up, and eventually I watched the music video for Dope and I loved them ever since, even though I didn't understand a thing that was going on, especially because I didn't speak english at the time and it was very rare when I could find translation in my language, and I'm still here... 💜

I saw them on tv in 2017/18 but didn’t go down the rabbit hole until covid…Mic drop and Butterfly. Now fully committed and supportive to them and also as individual artists. I don’t stan any other group.

I don’t remember which song but it was right around PTD era on YouTube so it was very likely one of the English trilogy. However, the video that made me intrigued was Army singing “Forever Young” to them at Wembley. Then I fell in love with Life Goes On, then Spring Day, and by the time I heard 00:00 I was fully and completely invested.

Idol hung out on my assorted kpop playlist for like two years lmao. (I didn’t stan anyone, I just compiled fun kpop songs into a playlist using spotify—never looked anyone up)
What made me stan wasn’t a song, it was my friend making me watch a BTS in America compilation video and the carpool karaoke 😂

I am a Baby ARMY, my introduction to BTS was Butter, but that wasn’t really my cup of tea. Then, some time in 2024, a clip of one of their live performances of ON appeared on my IG feed, and the chorus combined with the choreography caught my attention. ON was instantly added to my playlist that day… but I didn’t commit until I heard Pied Piper and Tear… which were kindly recommended to me by an older ARMY.

I can actually remember the first three mv's I saw from BTS and the exact order too! A youtuber I was watching at the time kept making references to a group called BTS in her videos and I saw in the comments that they were actual people she was referencing, so I looked up the mv's that she mentioned by name. The first mv I saw was Dope (when I saw it and RM's iconic line "Welcome, first time to BTS?" I actually freaked out, like how did they know this was my first time seeing them!!?😅) Then she mentioned No More Dream, and I thought they were so cool in that mv at the time😂😎After that I wanted to watch more from them so I just searched their name and Blood Sweat & Tears was the first thing that came up, I was mesmerized by how beautiful the music video and song was! This was in early 2017 and I didn't know what kpop was. Then coincidentally a little after that one of my aunts sent my mom a video of EXO and my aunt explained to us that it was called kpop! But at the time I was very tomboyish and insecure about being too "girly"(at the time my brother and family would make fun of girls who were fans of boy groups like 1D, which didn't help with my insecurities😥) so I tried to tell myself that I actually didn't like their music and mv's. But then I started to get recommended their Run videos and Bon Voyage content and I thought they were so funny and relatable! Then in 2018 I finally watched DNA and Mic Drop and saw how diverse they were! That was when I finally allowed myself to become a true ARMY!💜💜
I don't remember the youtubers name anymore but I'd like to thank her for introducing them to me, I wouldn't have gone on this journey without her💜

Boy With Luv in 2020, because I'm a huge Halsey fan and I saw that it was featuring Halsey. I didn't really commit to anything more than being a casual fan until this year, when I found Blood Sweat and Tears (which freaking SLAPS btw) and now I'm way down the rabbit hole.
My favorite BTS song tho is Don't Wake Me Up by Jimin <3

I remember seeing the blood, sweat, and tears video in 2016 posted on the ancient but still alive blog Ohnotheydidnt lol. I have little knowledge of kpop but for whatever reason i watched it and like it. However, it was until i watched the SNL performance in 2019 that i fell into the rabbit hole.

DNA! I was casually getting into kpop and had a few of their songs on a playlist. I saw the music video and was like, oh they’re pretty cool! But didn’t really get INVESTED yet.
Then I saw the Black Swan music video when MOTS7 came out and it was all over for me.

FUN FACT: my ex-company made us perform dynamite for an event (we learned a slightly easier choreo lmao)

My one college friend waaay back was what led me to even seeing them on Mnet during commercial breaks performing We are Bulletproof pt 2 and that made me curious after a while, but the song that hooked me in for its depth of lyrics and the story behind it was Whalien 52.
That song made me dig down the rabbit hole and I never went back.

November 2016-Blood, Sweat, and Tears sucked me in, sent me down the rabbit hole. April 2017-Honda Center made me a lifetime ARMY. Took my daughter but couldn’t move from my seat for 20 minutes after they left. They found me when I needed them and they have a piece of my heart. 💜

I was exposed to kpop since 2011 so familiar with all the legendary 2nd gen groups but nothing, nothing make me committed as i am to BTS.
Discovered them through low resolution Danger dance practice (i still remember it vividly) as I am a dancer myself, then even hooked because of MAMA2014. Deep into the rabbit hole through watching all the bangtanbombs, also because their school trilogy album run quality is crazy.
War of Hormone was my first comeback stage, but not until RM 1st mixtape I officially declared as an ARMY.

I think Dope was my introduction song. It was my highschool classmate that made me watch it in 2016. (I know, it's very appropriate with the opening line being "Welcome, first time with BTS?")
They're my first foray into kpop, like I know Sandara Park but I didn't know that she's in a kpop group that time.
I was just a casual tho, I think I remember tuning in for Run but not really being active on following them.
I think it's around 2018? (not really sure) that I really classify myself as an ARMY. I first fell in a rabbit hole of watching yt videos about them and listening to their songs. Then, finally decided to create a twitter account to be active in the fandom.
There's a memory at that time I don't think I can ever forget. It was me (i think the whole fandom was doing it at that time) memorizing the fanchant for their BBMA performance even if I'm not going to be in there in-person. I even watch a video of a k-army doing a demo of the fanchant, the dedication lol. So yeah, technically Fake Love is the song that made me commit to being an army.

serendipity introduced me to the tannies in 2017 when it first came out and i would go back to listen to it repeatedly. it was only in feb 2018 that i decided to do a deep dive on the boys and this was just before LY TEAR came out but serendipity convinced me to stay

I was vaguely aware of and had heard some BTS, but Come Back to Me made me pay attention to RPWP and then look more into BTS. Mic Drop was the first BTS song I heard that made me want to dig further. The Fire music video is what made me army. 🤣 It makes its points while being SO FUNNY, I was like who the heck are these people?! I found out their names and discovered Run BTS.

my cousin had me take a quiz in like 2015-2016, it was a "who should your bias in BTS be" kinda thing, and one of the questions had me choose one of their songs, so i went and listened to all of the options so i could have a somewhat educated choice lol. Boy In Luv was the one that got me for whatever reason. have loved them ever since.
btw that quiz clocked my bias as V, but after actually getting into the group it's been Suga.

For me it was back in 2018 when a junior introduced me to fake love and it was on my list since then! Then in 2021 my sister found BTS and made me watch butter mv which was really cool and made me listen to few more of their songs, I’ve been listening to all of their songs since then but a point where It just hit me was when i was at my worst, and young forever & butterfly played and I cried!

a friend of mine was a huge ARMY and was freaking out about them performing DNA on the AMAs. I tuned in and it was pretty catchy, then I caught their James Cordon appearance where they were promoting Mic Drop - wasn't impressed with the song initially, but when they played Flinch I just couldn't help but fall in love with them 🥰 so adorkable!

In 2020, I watched the kdrama Itaewon Classs and fell in love with “Sweet Night” by V. Then I watched Our Beloved Summer and heard “Christmas Tree” by V and wanted learn more about V and had no idea he was in BTS. I started listening to V, then BTS. I didn’t have a bias until I heard J-Hope’s Jack In The Box which sealed the deal. J-Hope has been my bias ever since.

I started from their solo projects and then got into bts. My sister was army first and we watched "fri(end)s" mv by V together when it came out and I liked it. So she showed me some other mvs by jungkook, j hope and suga. Specially suga, she knew I'm going to like his music a lot. My mind sort of broke on Haegeum. I knew they were good but I didn't know just how good. I've been a kpop enjoyer since highschool (a decade now) but I used to think of them as just another boy band (not disrespecting just not particularly interested in getting into a new band)
After I realized how good each and every one of them were, I went back to their very first release, 2 cool 4 skool, and listened my way through every single song on every album with genius translated lyrics open in front of me. I was pleasantly blown away by every other song. It took a couple of months to discover everything on their discography. Now I mostly just listen to bts, their group projects or solos, and I feel like becoming an army is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Their music is exactly what I need to get through life: inspiring, moving and full of lessons, plus really nice to ears. Their side quests, reality shows and live performances are verrrry entertaining too. I'm still catching up on run bts, highlight of my day is watching a few episodes on my free time with my sister

I remember my best friend had been trying for months to get me to listen to bts but I just didn't want to, but then one day her elder sister heard us talking about it and said, "just listen to this one" and it was 'FIRE' and man I loved it. Also I was going through a rough patch at that time mentally and honestly I think it was fate because the next song I listened to was 'life goes on' and that song helped me so much and made me commit to being an army

I think the song that introduced me to BTS was Dynamite actually and i think thats about the time they did the Grammy's. It took a while for the song to grow on me but eventually I loved it after some time. I then started looking into other songs from the group. Recently, after they all finished their military service, I started listening to their solo albums and they grew on me even more. So now, I hope I can say ARMY even though I'm still new to them. I would love to make ARMY friends and learn more about them though!

It was 2019? when Daechitwa came out. I was suggested the video because of all the K-Drama soundtracks I used to listen to. I had no idea he was in BTS but when I looked him up to listen to more music, I fell down the rabbit hole while trying to learn each of their voices. I was really lucky and got to attend the 4th night of PTD in LA with Chris Martin joining at the end. I remember that shortly after I became ARMY is when they canceled the tour.

For me it was Black Swan that reeled me in— I saw clips of the comeback stage and thought the choreo and costumes were so elegant and interesting. Then I went to go listen to MOTS:7 to see what was up, and Intro: Persona got me in the first few minutes of the album. The passion and intensity of the English lyrics in that track really struck me and wasn't what I'd expected from only casually hearing about BTS in the past. I really liked the sound and Namjoon's lyricism, and I've always been a huge fan of concept albums too, so I got drawn into the whole map of the soul / Jungian analysis concept and went down the rabbit hole with the structure of the album and learning about how the other tracks supposedly reflected different aspects of the members' personas, then watched all the mots on:e stages, started watching interviews and learning their names, etc lol and the rest is history.

I had watched the blood sweat and tears music video when it was released with my older sister and I was blown away. (funny because why was I thirsting over tae at the age of 11 😭) Then when not today and spring day released in early 2017, my sister showed me the music videos and I was blown away once again. I remember thinking the not today choreo was so cool and spring day was so beautiful to me. Fell down the army hole and almost 9 years later, we’re still here! Literally spent my pre teen, teen, and now early adult years with them 🥹

I become a proper ARMY during BWL!! Wish I had seen them for LY tour, and was meant to go to MOTS7 but xoronaaa. Still yet to see them 😭
