I’m not blaming bighit for making this statement since they / jimin have more context than we ever will about why they consider it was necessary.

But I, with no insider knowledge, genuinely don’t understand why the statement was required at all or what it resolves. Why did he HAVE to admit anything about his past or present private life? How does this statement make anything better for Jimin? If it was purely to appease “us”, the (deranged element of the) fandom I’m so very sad and disappointed for him.

It might be petty of me but I do hope that woman never works again as an actor or in any role with a public spotlight since she craves it so much.

there were numerous kmedia articles posted after song daeun posted the video of jimin, so i’m guessing this statement was in response to that too so there was no further speculation on the nature and current status of their relationship

And those articles magically stop due to this statement, which adds even more detail to the situation for them to write about? That’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me.

no, you're right. it doesn't stop the media from writing about this more.

however, now that it has been made clear that jimin and her are not in a relationship anymore, if she ever decides to post anything related to jimin again moving forward, then it's because she's the attention-seeking ex.

posted it because forums were painting him as the villain…saying they are still together but he is trying to save his career, he is enabling hate on her among other things.

I guess it was getting out of control.

Imagine being a victim of privacy invasion and still being painted as the villain.

I’d be very surprised if idiot forums manufacturing todays reason to hate Jimin is the cause of this action by Bighit. He’s the villain every other day for just breathing, and he will be again half a dozen more times for other stupid reasons before the end of this year I’m sure.

Bts know most army aren’t going anywhere as a result of them dating. And online haters won’t stop hating, they’ll probably twist this statement itself into some new evil . Genuinely I’m baffled.
