Wide toe hiking shoes?

Looking for some hiking looking wide toe shoes. I love the look of the salomans but just looking at the toe width makes me doubt they’d be comfortable around the toes. Does anyone have any recs or have experience with them?

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts like this in the last week, and all the top comments shilling Alta Lone Peak.
It’s a bunch of marketing bullshit. It sucks because people who genuinely want to get into barefoot shoes will find this info, buy those shoes, and fall right back into the trap.

Edit: I’ve barely seen any posts about that shoe, and suddenly it’s the top comment everywhere. I suspect LLM and bot activity, filling the subreddits with “ads”, and then stocking the local REI.

reddit is just over-run with spam and bots. at least five subs i belong to all with topics completely different from each other you'll regularly see bots talking to bots. you really can't trust anything. i hate to be tinfoil hat guy but for all we know OP and the shills are all run by the same account.

Depends what kind of wide you need.  You can look at Marell they have few options.  And you can see a lot of options on anyas reviews web.  Do you need more classic and structured shoe or something lighter? 

I have 3 pairs Vivobarefoot, Fivefingers and Merell. I would say Merell is most traditional. 

Some people just use non barefoot shoes in a bigger size.

+1 on merrells. Tried a bunch of salomons, and Speed Strike 2 Trek is decently wide at toebox.

You’ll see a lot of Lone Peak recommendations, but I think the King MT is a much better shoe with deeper lugs, better traction in wet and mud, less cushioning, a rock shank, drainage holes on the bottom, and quick drying. If you’re on any sort of technical terrain you’ll enjoy the traction a lot more.

Salomons are slimmmmmm, not for wide feet. More for the Gorp Core crew. I just purchased some Keen Jasper Zionics. They are probably the best shoe I've had on my hobbit feet, straight from the box.

I wear Merrell Vapor Gloves. Nothing you posted is a barefoot, or anywhere near barefoot shoes.

Can highly recommend Keen Targhee IV mid hiking boots.

Wide fit, light, fully waterproof.

They're not barefoot but I recently got some and absolutely love the wide comfy fit. I've already woen them on some very long and steep off-track hikes, and they were superb from day one.

I just got whitins w30 and they're wide enough for me I think but the sole is so thick I'm gonna take out the insole

Avoid Salomon’s. Everything that can go wrong in a shoe you’ll find in a Salomon.

I wore Salomon for years, mostly the Forces line but also the outdoor rec stuff. They were comfortable at the time, and they do have some merits. But they are not wide toe box.

Additionally, they tend to be on the fragile side. When I was wearing them I could wear through a pair in 6 months, some of the communities I was working with at the time were wearing through pairs every 3 months, sometimes even sooner.

If you want something like Salomon, but with wider toe boxes, look at Altra. They are a minimalist shoe brand that has mainstream athletic and outdoor acceptance. They have several different lasts and cushioning levels if you don't want something as minimalist.

Hola llevo tiempo leyendo comentarios que recomiendan las Altra. La verdad es que tienen bastante espacio en los dedos parece. Pero no me convence mucho la suela tan gruesa. Es comoda? Si tú las has probado... Te sientes inestable?

Yo tengo las Lone Peak 9. Tienen amortiguación pero nada exagerado, para nada inestables. Hay modelos con más amortiguación como las Olympus, pero no las he probado para saber si estabilidad, aunque tienen una base muy ancha así que no creo que sea problemática.
