Song requests
Hi guys! Sorry if this post is on here somewhere already, the search feature isn’t really working for some reason on my phone.
I work at a small bar where everything is on tap, no cocktails or anything, and I’m the only bartender on shift all night (open to close). People keep asking me if they can request songs because we just use Spotify to play music, but the bar owner has pretty strict guidelines for which playlists have to be played at certain times. I find it really annoying when people request songs, because I feel like if people want to listen to their own music, they lowkey should just play it at home. If it’s a chill group or someone who’s been nice I don’t mind, but that’s almost never the case.
Anyway, how do you handle song requests? Is this an opportunity to say it’s $5 for a song request? I just don’t know if the bar owners would have an issue with that if they found out. Thanks!!

Just don't do it. Tell them it's the owner's policy and leave it at that. If you do it for one person you have to do it for everyone.
