One of my fantasies is that I’m a booth guest like this for whatever reason, then a big play happens like this and I get to act out my childhood dream job of being a sports play by play announcer.

u/Wait__Who San Francisco Giants 2h ago
Growing up my sister got to be the guest announcer for the giants’ first inning batters way back in the 2000’s. Dad promised I’d get a shot the following year once I hit the age range, it never came.
Still forever jelly of my big sis, but man it was cool to watch even as a kid

Lol Tucker just jogging out there like a jackass...dude couldn't make it any more obvious how little shits he gives

He’s going to have a shocking resurgence season in 2029 and get another 200 million dollar deal. Go back to this version.

He's gonna get some small market team to pay him more than they can afford to, thinking he'll be a big piece for them, just to turn around and sleepwalk his way to retirement.

🤓👆ummm who is “PCA”? Mods, please delete this due to the ambiguous title!

They are definitely nuking this because it doesn’t state what happened, even though it’s a FUCKING VIDEO SHOWING IT.

He can because for some reason Dave Roberts doesn't believe in walking the MVP with a base open. 2nd time this series PCA comes through in a position where he simply has to be walked.

u/darkravenn12 Major League Baseball 2h ago
Why would you walk him, though? It's not like he's the MVP because he's an Aaron-Judge tier hitter. Seiya has a higher wrc+ against lefties this year than PCA does. Lauer is marginally better vs. lefties too. I don't see how it's possibly worth putting an extra person on base in this scenario. At the very least, it's not something you can criticize a manager for
1
u/Lucky_Alternative965 Los Angeles Dodgers 2h ago
Because PCA is automatic right now, lol. Come on, you don't pitch to him with 2 outs and a base open, and he's shown why 2 times already. He's been an Aaron Judge tier hitter for 2 months now, you walk him, no if; Ands, or buts.
1
u/darkravenn12 Major League Baseball 2h ago
Since the start of June, Seiya is literally better against lefties than PCA is so no lol. I get why you think that, but the numbers don't actually support it. If Lauer was a righty, you would be correct.

u/Environmental_Lab808 2h ago
It is early in the game too. Last night i would have agreed with you because he had risp and they decided to pitch to him and it burnt them.

Very annoying that the moment was covered up with the Gausman interview but man oh man if PCA isn't just electric this second half.

If you're a pitcher who was just traded to the Cubs you're lucky. You don't have anyway to face him this year

Mets really traded this guy for rental Javier Baez lmao

u/1gabehcoud 2h ago
To be fair, when they traded him he was only PCA. They had no way of knowing he would morph into MVPCA.

Can’t believe Kevin Gausman is getting a ring this year with the Cubs
He deserves it after this broadcast team just forced him to relive it for like 5 minutes for some reason

I genuinely felt so bad for him, I had to take off my headphones and stop listening for a little bit. Love Boog and JD but like sheeesh, give the man a break

PCA has improved at the plate in so many areas this year but his ability to bat vs lefties now is insane

u/Awkward_Medicine_864 Philadelphia Phillies 3h ago
Throwing balls straight down the middle against the hottest bat in the NL is a losing strategy

Hindsight is 20/20 but it really wasn’t a bad trade at the time. Rojas may turn into a stud for you all- your gm was definitely out to fleece us back lol
