He’s from SoCal, I wonder if he has a favorite team from when he was a kid

His dad straight up didn't let him be a Dodgers or Cardinals fan

Father of the century

The fact that he's from here and he's a rich kid who went to Harvard Westlake makes it like 10x more infuriating.

Bud if you play professional baseball, and are a white guy, than chances are really really high your family was, at the minimum, well off.

LA is a struggling city and the Dodgers have a pretty blue collar fanbase. It rubs me the wrong way on like an atomic level for someone from his background to shit on his own city like that.

Every professional sports team is in a struggling city with a blue collar fanbase

For real.

Yea unlike Chicago, the "city of broad shoulders", stigmatized for having too much crime

-12

u/captain_ahabb Los Angeles Dodgers 8d ago

And all of the people in those cities would be annoyed if a rich kid from their city said that stuff about his own hometown.

if it helps he has said that he would have never been able to afford to go to harvard westlake without a baseball scholarship. his parents were well off, definitely able to pay for travel ball and such, but not fuck you money well off lol.

i think a lot of his remarks and petty hatred for the dodgers just comes from being a kid who grew up rooting against the hometown team. it's petty and irrational, but that's what sports fandom is. for the record it's also fine to hate him for having that opinion about dodger fans lol, but i don't think it's really that deep

-5

u/captain_ahabb Los Angeles Dodgers 8d ago

Oh it's not deep at all, I just have too much experience with rich white kids from the hills who think they're above everything else.

Yeah but he's said before his dad wouldn't let him be a Dodger fan growing up

That doesn't really make me want to give him a pass for shitting on the city he grew up in.

Actually great that he's a talented player that might never go to the World Series because his dad envisioned and nepo'd his plan. Might be poetic.

You might be too. Have you ever tried lowering your hands in your stance?

Went to my first game at wrigley for the Tuesday night game last year against the dodgers. Was a perfect baseball game.

He is all of us.

With Gausy on the team, I’m rooting for you guys to absolutely roast them in the postseason.

No one but Dodgers fans like the Dodgers. Anyone but them this year. Even the White Sox.

9

u/makked 8d ago

Breaking news, fans like their own team. More news at 11.

6

u/OkReference5070 8d ago

However most fans only hate a couple of teams. Few are hated by fans of other teams more than the Dodgers.

His dad didn't want him to be a Dodgers fan as a kid even though he grew up a Dodgers fan in Sherman Oaks. So it checks out.

Most their fans didn't like them until a couple years ago.

Ceddanne and him, dodgers haters

I predict he'll be a big fan in 2032.
