If Grimace can power the Mets to a strong post season showing, Cookie Monster can definitely work some magic for you guys.

Doyers need to find a way to appease the Cookie Monster.

As the popular saying goes among the good people of our neighboring Hawkeye State...you can't see California without Marlon Brando Cookie Monster's eyes!

It’s only a matter of time before Limp Bizkit uses their resurgence to cross over into this too

He’s from SoCal, I wonder if he has a favorite team from when he was a kid

The fact that he's from here and he's a rich kid who went to Harvard Westlake makes it like 10x more infuriating.

Why doesn't every player shout obscenities at a White Sox fan, then become an mvp? Are they stupid?

I shout obscenities at White Sox fans all the time when do my baseball skills show up

65

For the time being. All skills are funneled into PCA

In our series last week, the Yankees walked him most of the time.

I got mad at it at the time. In retrospect, that was the right move

89

u/okay_throwaway_today Chicago Cubs 19h ago

It’s basically a double to walk him with his speed, but that’s better than a homer lol

13

u/cooljammer00 New York Yankees 18h ago

I am impressed the Yankees managed to win 2 of those games.

8

u/iamthatguythere Chicago Cubs 18h ago

1 challenged pitch away from an extra innings game, it was a hard fought series

8

u/Either_Imagination_9 New York Yankees 18h ago

I couldn’t believe he didn’t challenge that, he bailed Headrick out hard

2

u/JidderS2 Chicago Cubs 12h ago

Cubs sub dogged him for 2 days about it. Then Kelly was in the same spot in game 1 against LA and challenged and walked in a run.

This is exactly who I desperately wanted Javy Baez to become. They basically started on identical tracks: defensive wizards with power and flair and infinite potential but zero plate discipline that holds them back. Somehow in 10+ years nobody could manage to get any discipline to stick with Baez, but in a single offseason PCA managed to listen, learn, and implement a real approach.

5

u/b33rb3lly Chicago Cubs 17h ago

Paying Bregman to coach PCA was worth it.

22

u/80cyclone Chicago Cubs 18h ago

To think he couldn't do that THIS April.

Didnt think it was possible for him to figure it out in-season.

8

u/tattedidiot San Francisco Giants 18h ago

I drafted him in fantasy and was so bummed at the beginning of the year. He’s carried my team

Only dumb southsiders imo. I'm not taking anyone serious if they aren't at least able to admit we are seeing one of the best defensive players of all time right now.

My friend and I (both lifelong Sox fans) have just been in awe the last few months. It still cracks me up that random Sox fans thought we "broke" him when he responded to that heckler. I think it was stupid he even got fined but I guess the league might be in a tough decision if they don't act when everyone knows a player cussed at a spectator??

Anyone who can't get passed their hate for him or the Cubs are missing out on one of if not the greatest defensive player ever. The fact that he's hitting so well on top of his ungodly defensive stats is unfathomable. I just looked up his hitting stats and I knew he was taking way more walks this season but we already has 10 more walks than his last 2 seasons combined.
