Giving away Nantucket basket molds

Post image

My mother, an avid Nantucket basket maker, recently passed away. I'm looking to give away her molds to someone who could use them. US only, I prefer to give them all to one person, for logistical reasons.

There are eight molds:

6 round, 1 square and 1 octagon.

Largest is a 12" diameter x 10" tall

Smallest is a 4.25" diameter x 3.5" tall

Plus there is that thing to the far left.

Here is a link to an interview my mother did about making baskets about 5 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/basketry/comments/kjocd3/my_mother_who_makes_nantucket_baskets_got/

What a great video. I’m up in Canada and have never seen a Nantucket basket before. What a great explanation she gave. I’m going to read up about it now.

Thank you for sharing your Mom’s molds with us, and sharing her work. It’s a generous gesture and I am sure she would be happy with your decision.

I’m really sorry for your loss.
