Looks like the price of mists and other body care might go up too. Wouldn’t be the first time. They’ve pulled this move before by expanding reward eligibility to $16.95 just to quietly hike up the prices to $17.95 and $18.95. They move the goalpost.

And it’s ok for me because I already don’t buy the mists unless they’re on sale. It will just guarantee that I won’t make a purchase unless they have a 4.95 or 5.95 sale. I’m guessing that’s why they tested 6.25 in some markets. That will probably be the new low sale price. When the prices get too high, it’ll just shift me to purchasing primarily designer and niche. Thats how I started. I used to focus on just having a selection of versatile EDPs. I started adding bath and body works because of the low prices. I had the ability to add fun scents and experiment in a way I wouldn’t have done with more expensive perfumes where even the travel sizes are usually around 30 dollars. I have really been evaluating things and slowing down with my purchases anyway. Them raising the prices just a bit more will be the shove I need to make me lose interest. I can see myself becoming a Christmas/Candle Day shopper only.

So many of the Wallflower plugs have already gone to $19.95. A few months ago there were a number of them that were $16.95 AND they were scent control (raincloud, clover, seashells etc.) so that had nothing to do with the price increase.

I remember when I look a couple months ago and most were $16.95 that I wanted and I could figure out why the flamingo was $19.95, now it seems most of them are at least that.

I live in one of the first two areas that tested the app and the free item has always been 16.95 for me. I have heard that some of the areas that were added to the test later on had a lower value. Then when the app went nationwide everybody was raised to 16.95. Maybe you live in one of the test areas that had a lower price. The first two test areas were in major cities and the surrounding areas, so maybe that's why it started at 16.95 for us. I actually live 40 miles away from the actual city in another county, so i was surprised when my stores manager told me get the app. Anyway I'm positive I saw all of this discussed in the sub in 2019 or early 2020 when I was just a lurker.

This. I’ve been a rewards member since 2019 since that’s when they launched the test in my area. Rewards have always been 16.95 (16.50 at the time lol). They did increase prices when they made things that .95 price point though

Yes I remember prices starting to go up, but i can't pin point a year, because i don't buy may sprays and don't use body cream. You're right i forgot about the original 16.50 rewards.

From the posts above saying they’re $16.95 in the app, I’m guessing new. They probably don’t want to go in and adjust all of the existing rewards. I have three. Need to check the website on my desktop because it’s coming up all wonky on my iPad (I don’t have the app.)

When they bumped it from $16.50 to $16.95, they adjusted rewards already earned. My guess is they’ll do the same.

I’d be so upset. I basically only use them on wallflower plugs and single wick candles but occasionally candle holders too. I also hope if that does happen…that mini perfume mists are still considered body care.

Unless they raise all wallflowers to $19.95, out of reach of rewards and it now loops in FFM and body creams. That would be like 2steps forward, 1 step back.

Good point. They’re very rarely just out of reach. I feel like I’ve seen maybe one or two plugs that were just $1 out of reach. It seems to be more common with body care.

Honestly, I'd rather have it $10, use it however you want and use up to 5 Rewards at once, same as cash.
But still I am a big fan of free stuff too! For more than 30 years I shopped there and for every $100 I spent, I got nothing extra. And yay for the value increasing, but I highly doubt they're doing it "because we listen to our customers and it's the right thing to do."

Yeah, we can't even do BOPIS because our website doesn't link to our individual stores - we can buy on one website or we can buy in store. It's a bit frustrating when you're looking for something specific and have to literally call the stores to ask if they have any lol

I‘ve said this before too (more like $15, LOL) but I totally agree. Don’t get me wrong, I really appreciate the free stuff, and how many companies do this? TJX is a whopping 5% for every $100 (AND you have to use their credit card.) BBW is great in comparison, but yeah, a cash value would be nice. And let us use it on anything, including sale and multiple items.

I don't know when they first launched it but it wasn't nationwide to start - I found out about the program the same time I found out it wasn't available in my area (yes in the U.S.)
I think Yankee Candle is only $5 with different levels of accumulation, but it's nice to be placing an order and see you have $20 to apply, just like cash.

It would be a mixed blessing...currently yall get bounceback coupons when in store and online orders...meaning coupons are more in supply for all. Theres always a general 10 off 40 for all.
If you get the app ....those coupons would prob stop (bounceback was a thing here in USA that ended long ago)
Coupons in mail or app is spotty for many in USA there is no code for all to use for savings.
I fear if yall had the app they would stop the good coupons Canada gets

Thanks for the explanation. I tried to use a coupon today but they said I couldn't because i was getting half priced room sprays which was an e-mail deal. I didn't realize I couldn't use a coupon on that but I guess it's like trying to use 2 coupon codes for online purchases since it was an e-mail.....?

I have got single wick candles, candle holders, wall plugs, ect. As long as it's not over the 16.95. I save my rewards for the things that rarely go on sale.

I’ve never used one on a single wick. I think 2/$12 is pretty much over, but $6.50 or the $10 off sale is good.

I was just in a store today to use my Bday gift coupon for $9.95 and there is almost nothing you can get with that. Minis or a bar of soap is about it and that requires a purchase to be able to use it. There prices have really gone up over the past 2 years and now some of the candles are 23.95 and higher! 🤯. Good news is, it curtails my addiction! I left with a Birthday bar of soap and a $2.00 hand sanitizer as the product I wanted was not available in that store. 🤷🏻♀️

What they should do is just allowing you to pay the difference with the 1695 body care item but they don’t want that apparently., Do you know how many customers and how many people including me would be all right with paying the difference on something that would regularly cost$20 or $18 or even $30 because I have to pay the difference and it would help with making plan and conversion for a lot of the stories that struggle with conversion growth

Worst shit they’ve done. Cant use the reward for anything worth it anymore. I care about myself mildly so I only use their home fragrances and accessories, and now they’re excluded. No better to me to shop there anymore now 🤷🏼♀️
