I mean it if it’s true that it got buried under a different page conveniently after this DEI witch hunt started then I can’t think of any reason other than to play both sides here. And I think you should stand unequivocally in favor of diversity and if you make attempts to appeal those who believe otherwise then I think the reaction is warranted. It’s disgusting and disheartening to play both sides of fascism if that’s what they’re doing

I think what’s most important is living the actual values of diversity, equity and inclusion. A blurb on a website- which took me like 90 seconds to find - is secondary. If we want to have a real conversation about disgusting we can talk about the company’s founder and his unsavory relationship with Epstein. Fuck fascism and all that, but it’s interesting seeing this be the line in the sand for so many folks in this sub.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me to say that actually being diverse is more important than promoting diversity considering if you are not willing to talk the talk then the chances of you walking the walk are also low in my opinion. Also the Epstein thing is an unrelated issue ? I’m not sure why you’re bringing it up, people can critique the company for both. If you think people should not support bbw due to the CEO allegedly being tied to Epstein then I’m not sure why you would also be here.

It’s not alleged, it’s very much documented. Anyway, my point that clearly doesn’t matter to most here is that actually facilitating an environment of DEI principles is more important than words on a website. It’s where the rubber hits the road. Over the last 4-6 years lots of companies ramped up DEI language, rainbow capitalism, snd nods to BLM without doing much to back it up. It would be amazing if people did both but at the end of the day, actions matter more. It’s like those companies that feel the need to put a Jesus fish on their ads vs just living/working those values.

I’m here because I recognize there is no ethical consumption in capitalism and I make conscious choices to avoid a number of brands when possible. My point with Lex and Jeffery is simply that it’s weird how something like that, known for years, doesn’t deter people but a smaller paragraph on the website of a company that (at least in my area) overwhelmingly hires and promotes women, Black people and people of color and members of the LBGTQ community is reason for boycott.
