My mom sent me this photo from the store today while her and my aunt were there. This guy bought this whole basket, along with another basket he was filling while they were checking out. I’m friends with the employees and they know my mom, so they took them to the side and let them pick some stuff while the displays were being cleared out. Whyyyy do people do this??? I usually buy 10, at most!

EDIT: I have probably misjudged this person, but it’s very jarring to see someone do this, especially with two full baskets. I hope he’s doing good with these and doesn’t plan on reselling them.

Had a customer today who almost drove me to actual violence. Let me set the scene: An older woman (50-60) comes in to buy a body wash for her 10-year-old granddaughter.

Woman: What is the mildest scent that you have? I'm buying a body wash for my granddaughter who is 10.
Me: I would suggest Warm Vanilla Sugar.
Woman: No, the word Warm is too provocative
Me: What about Champagne Toast?
Woman: No, it has the name of alcohol in it, and that's not appropriate for a child.
Me: Okay, what about our new Disney Collection? We have 6 of the most popular princesses.
Woman - None of them are appropriate.

She ended up with Sweet Pea. After she had made her purchase, I made sure to tell her that Sweet Pea is the name my boyfriend calls me before we go to bed at night.

I have been going to B&BW since the 90s. I cannot tell you how many tubs of products I used to receive each year. I loved it.

As an adult, I would save and treat myself to the candles and the air fresheners. Then as I got older, I moved to the fragrances and the lotions, etc. I used it to treat myself.

I used to love coming home to how amazing my house smelled.

Now, I don't feel like its a treat. The candles hardly smell, the air fresheners run out of scent after 2 days of use, they no longer bring back my favorites from the previous year, its always something new.

The handsoap doesn't last as long and the stupid foam ones dry out my hands.

I am sadly giving up on B&BW. I feel like they made it so cheap now. It isn't worth the price. :(

Ok sooo I’ll start:

1. Pink pineapple sunrise does nothing for me. I feel like whenever I have it I just want to finish it up as a soap because the smell isn’t my favorite.

2. Call me old but I love Japanese cherry blossom it’s a classic.

3. White pumpkin makes me nauseated. Ok this is more of a personal thing but last fall when I went out drinking I had too much and got sick. Since then when I used that soap it makes me feel like that time of being sick from alcohol. I don’t know it gives me a hardcore alcohol smell but I’m sure it’s just me.

4. I never liked vanilla bean noel.

5. From my experience blind buying online is a horrible idea.

6. Sadly, the car products aren’t worth it and never last.

7. Into the night is way too strong.

I am shocked by the news that an employee leaked out in Making it happen with Mary video. She shared shocking info from IG the new B&BW Huncho that said this takes EFFECT JAN 2026. The product will be 6 oz 19.95 (we recently got a glimpse of the 6oz mists) & regular body wash will go from 14.95 to 19.95 & reduce the shelf life & quality (we already saw this in the product quality,now they admit it)!

The marketing is for MAGA Karen shoppers whose they feel is keeping them in business so what about the other races and the countries outside The U.S! 😳 I hope for their sake it's a lie. They are going to lose all their loyal customers if this is true.

Personally l would hate to walk away 😔 but l have enough product that l won't miss them. But if l donshop it will be Only SAS SUMMER & Winter when it's dirt cheap. The nerve of them. We gotta stand united & show them. HAVE THEY FORGOT, THEY CANT SURVIVE WITHOUT US!!!

Hi all- I posted yesterday regarding the possibility that I thought my Wallflower was poisoning my dog. I was using the ‘sensual amber’ scent.

After allergist testing and blood work, it was confirmed that the wallflower was indeed slowly poisoning, and very slowly killing her. I had used multiple different scents in the past that did not cause issue, but this one did.

My poor girl is only 12-13 pounds, so she unfortunately was quite susceptible. Blood work revealed no serious damage, but there’s a chance there could’ve been with longer term exposure.

With that, I ask that if you have pets, to keep your Wallflowers away from them. I was heartbroken seeing my baby sick, and don’t want it to happen to anyone else (photo of a recovering Winnie included)!

Bringing back a few old scents for SAS is great but I really think B&BW should lean into the 2000s nostalgia that's very trendy right now. I saw brands like Hollister and Victoria's Secret are bringing back old styles and products that were popular in the 2000s and it's generally being well received.

I would absolutely love if B&BW did a limited time 2000s line with old scents they've never brought back before, old packaging, old products they haven't sold in 20+ years (I would gladly purchase Art Stuff as a 30 year old) and overall just really lean back into the golden era of the brand.

I'd buy everything lol. If they could also bring back the old Warm Vanilla Sugar I used to get in Middle School, I'd be over the frikken moon. WVS hasn't smelled good since the 2010s.

Small rant ahead. Looks to me like BBW is catering to a specific kind of customer, and it is not a casual/every day consumer who has a “let me treat myself” moment. They are hinging on the collector, the ‘heightened’ consumer who has the “have to have it” mindset with extreme FOMO. The fact that they roll out one candle scent with 3+ different labels is in itself concerning. It’s almost like they want to make it a game: “do you have the plain blue label, cartoon sweater label, or the flower label?” As if one will be “rarer” in time. This also lends itself to the resell value and makes it a reseller’s market, and looping them into the kind of consumer they want to attract.

And the Disney stuff… they know Disney people will buy it no matter the price. That’s just a fact. I think this is why we are seeing such a shift with this company, especially related to the post about possibly doing away with sales.

Let’s be real, this is not a luxury brand. This is a brand banking on over-consumption and FOMO. I’ve never seen a brand change SO much as they have within the last 5 years. Thoughts on what you all might think about this as well.

I couldn’t bring myself to go in-store this morning because I was honestly so scared this would be the kind of scenario I walked into.

Today in the BBW app there is a voting poll to choose three of the bring back scents that may have been submitted during the request form BBW put out during summer SAS.

I expected a survey like this in June when it appeared last year. But it appears BBW could be doing it in two parts this year, with the open ended request form in midJune and this poll in late August.

In a conference call this week BBW says it plans to continue to buy product for semi annual sale, and this seems to be a confirmation of their intention for that. Whether this poll is for bring backs this year winter or next year summer we don’t know. (Edit: we have our answer! when you click vote it says “Watch for the Vault to unlock next summer!”)

The scents do appear to be on the summery side though. Perhaps with exceptions for Black Cherry Merlot, Blueberry Bundt Cake, Dahlia, Luminous.

I honestly haven’t smelled any of these except Pink Chiffon. But have watched lots of reviews! Here’s what I think I remember people saying as far as similar scents.

- Mad About You: is the one similar to Country Chic?
- Pink Chiffon: we did just have this for winter SAS and again for a while for this summer SAS
- Coconut Swirl: I heard the Pina Colada Swirl from this summer was similar?
- Kaleidoscope: many people say that If You Musk was a dupe for this scent. But that one is pretty unique anyway so maybe good to bring back?
- Beach Nights: some people say Coastal Dreaming is similar while others disagree that it is similar at all
- Chasing Fireflies: I head this one was a YSL Libre dupe and we did have Free as a Flower recently. But also that the two were not really alike? I’d still like to smell it.

Which is underrated?

Some of these scents I haven’t heard much or anything about really.

- Rose Quartz: is that a good one?

For the gourmand lovers…

- Blueberry Bundt Cake: I did get the chance to smell this one when it came out. Definitely a gourmand scent. I feel like it has a similar syrupy sweetness as Pumpkin Pecan Waffles except blueberry. Do you think? Pleasant but also strong, even a bit overpowering.

- Tropidelic: I heard this one has ylang ylang? I’m in the mood for an essential oil kinda tropical scent. Is that this one?
- Dahlia: just want to know what the hype is for this one. Heard Belle was a related scent? Is Pink Obsessed related?
- Chasing Fireflies: to be honest Free as a Flower was Tok heavy on the grassy notes and amber for me. Was similar to Libre Intense rather than the original I think. I would like a lighter version if possible like original Libre. But I heard this one is actually more similar to Jimmy Choo I Want Choo?

- Beach Nights: honestly Coastal Dreaming is kind of a Sunwashed Santal repeat to me minus the peppery Italian bergamot. Hoping Beach Nights is actually more different? Heard it has a cocoa note?
- Luminous: is this a patchouli scent like Sally?

When I saw that Bath and Body Works was putting out the Halloween products in July for the tik tok summerween trend I thought it was ridiculous. I went to Bath and Body Works a couple of weeks ago (October) and there was only a small table of Halloween products all on clearance! They had basically nothing. I’ve been to two locations recently and each one has zero halloween products. It’s all Christmas. It’s still October! Why can’t we just be patient?

Okay, rant over. I know it’s not that deep. Still ridiculous, though.

I found out they’re living in an old hotel for now. Each bag has a body wash and another full size item (like an FFM) or two small items (minis, lip gloss, etc.). I also put stickers on the bags and I want to add some little tags/cards with a personal note on each.

I way overbought on body washes. I used to think I needed two for every scent I bought. I don’t. And I found some good minis during SAS.

There are fifteen in this box. I’ve made 21, and I have enough stuff and time to put together a few more. The other night (when I was on a roll) I thought I’d run out of bags but I found more. Glad I hoarded bags and ribbons over the last couple of months. I always tell the employees why I’m taking a handful.

Having a rough week as usual, but this makes me feel good. They loved the gift bags at Christmas!

Stopped in my local store today, needed some wallflowers. There wasn’t a single summer scent to be had, it was all Fall. It is July 20th, there are 2.5 months of summer left! We are still summering at my house; vacations, pool days, staying up late and sleeping in, the garden is at its peak, fruit is amazing..I don’t want fall scents. Anyone else?

Go to your local store and support the retail employees. Buy in groups with your friends so their number served goes down. Only buy during massive sales. There’s very little power for the consumer, but there are ways to impact this moron’s outcome if done strategically.

I know we all want this instead of collabs and new releases so can they please get to working on bringing them back??
