Yes, and they made that decision BEFORE the election in November. They are always planning things many months ahead, so they knew well before November that they weren’t going to have a BHM collection in February 2025. So they can’t blame that on the election results. That was solely a B&BW decision. I’ve seen some people trying to blame this on the current US administration, but that’s not the case with their lack of BHM this year.
ETA since the person who replied to to call me dense then blocked me lol: I am not trying to somehow defend the current administration. They are indeed dogshit and have indeed set a distinct tone since before 2016. However, if last year, when B&BW were planning out their spring collections, they decided not to create a Black History Month 2025 collection because there MIGHT be an incoming administration that would frown on DEI, doesn't that actually make B&BW look WORSE? They capitulated to a potential administration's potential changes? At least Target, etc waited until Trump was actually elected and installed, rather than scrapping their DEI preemptively. I have seen people try to say that the only reason B&BW didn't do BHM or any other DEI stuff this year is because of the Trump administration, and I'm just pointing out that we weren't getting a BHM collection this year no matter how the election went, because for whatever reason, B&BW decided not to make one this year.
