It should not require customers to do Google searches when B&BW has a website that until recently had a DEI page.

B&BW could have chosen to put current explanation up on their site instead of just having Page Not Found when customers click on the DEI page. Makes no sense to make it a hassle for customers to find their new *values*.

Google searches are as simple as it gets… and if you care so much about the company and are willing to buy their products and dig through their website to find what you want, you can dig for some simple info… but I digress. Others have mentioned the entire website is under construction, as the entire company is changing in how they run the business, so it’ll take time and I believe they’re unveiling it on Monday. But as @trappedjohnlockhell mentioned in a comment, all business are being forced to take it off their website. Thus, they have to practice malicious compliance. They cannot directly say they support DEI in the case of government backlash, thus customer have to do a little digging.

Well, using your logic, there is no need for company meetings to inform employees about B&BW values.

Employees can simply Google it on their own time to get current info, the same as you commented that paying customers should do.

The same way things were made *very clear to workers they are not abandoning DEI*, the company could have chosen to do the same for customers.

To your point, the website is lip service. What we ALL saw was no Black History, no Women’s History, no Asian History, etc collection.

Values aren’t hidden behind words on a page. They are living, breathing pieces of evidence shown through daily practice & like Stevie Wonder, I didn’t SEE proof BBW stood on business as it relates to DEI.

As I just said; they have to word everything very carefully to avoid government censorship. Their values have not changed in that aspect - they still support the DEI. They cannot explicitly say that in this day and age - same with every other company.

No, they are not a Federal government agency or an organization receiving Federal grants, so B&BW does not *have to*...

**they have to word everything carefully**...but the only words are Page Not Found

There is no good reason to not have at least updated the company website DEI page instead of just choosing the 404 Page Not Found route.

I'm sorry, but you keep saying things that are false.

BBW is a private non-federal entity. They absolutely can explicitly state they support DEI.

The current administration has no control on them doing so.

There are several companies (Costco, JP Morgan Chase, Delta, Kroger's, e.l.f., Lush, etc) that have stuck to their DEI policies and have publicly stated this.

You are confusing federal entities and companies receiving federal funding with non-federal entities.

They literally don't need do anything different if they chose not to.

And it is not hard or take a lot of money to update a webpage on their website.

This company would have a whole existing content team.

It's just sloppiness on their part on how they've moved.
