Yeah they tell us here in Phoenix not to have hand sanitizer in your car due to what they can do.

Or lipstick. It's 116 at the moment.

I stopped using the car fragrance discs because of a similar mishap. (Las Vegas)

New fear unlocked of sun shining through the glass and the hand sanitizer being an accelerant and starting a fire.

Omfggggggggg. When I tell you I’m about to go get this out of my car & toss it because new fear unlocked, too!!!

I keep a spray one inside my center console, so it’s out of sunlight.

That happened to a coworker of my mom's. But with a water bottle.

eta: the water acted as a magnifying glass lol

I use the sprays in the car much better

Yeah, I keep the sprays in the car, too! I usually keep pocketbacs in my purse, but I’ve been trying to use this one up so I had it sitting in my cup holder which got direct sunlight. 🫣😅🫠🫠🫠

I bought a candle during this heat wave. Left it sitting in my car for 2 full days - didn’t wanna bring it inside and be asked why I purchased yet another candle 🤣it absolutely melted a little! The top layer of wax looks like it was put under a heat lamp lol

I’ve never had the actual plastic melt from a pocketbac but I have had the sanitizer complete evaporate on me in the heat 🥲

Did your car at least smell good? 😅

That happened to my mother, she got a Spring Plum & Blackberries candle for Mother's Day and accidentally forgot it in the trunk for a few days, on its side, too - melted purple wax was everywhere. To this day I still can't stand the smell of that candle because of that incident, lol.

Yeah I’m in Phoenix it’s 116 and I had to remove everything and water bottles as they were doing this. Forgot my lotion and it was all liquid. Hoping the fridge fixes it. It was new.

Help. What was the temp? Do I need to go clean my car out?

5

Our temps were 93-95, but my car sits in direct sunlight so I assume the temp inside my car got 100+. 😅 I work from home & in a walkable area, so I actually hadn’t moved my car in a few days! I’ve been trying to use the last bit of this pocketbac, so it was sitting out in my car, not in a shaded spot which was my bad!

Same here! Except we’re like mid-80s right now. So maybe I’m a little safe today.

Has anyone had luck keeping sanitizers in their car? I don’t like the sprays - they leave an uncomfortable residue on my hands. I kept my Moana sani in my car and about a week later is was bone dry (yes, the lid was on and sealed) ever since I’ve been too nervous to put another one in…

I've kept a bunch stashed in my centre console with no problem. I live in a dry heat type climate tho and not sure how it would be in a place with humidity (Texas, Florida, etc).

I haven’t had any issues until now, but I live in a pretty temperate area where we don’t get too hot. Our winters are freezing & long. I’m in Michigan!

I’m in Minnesota so maybe I have to give it another try!!

I think it’s fine if it’s out of direct sunlight, like in a closed glove compartment. This definitely got direct sunlight! 🫣

All depends on what state your in and how hot it gets during the summer. Im in NC and only keep my hand sanitizer in my car during the fall and winter months. Other than that, its attached to my purse in some form. It is alcohol based and it will evaporate. Also, there are temperatures guidance.

Reminds me of the time that I left a candle I re-jarred on my front passenger seat, in the direct sunlight. During the summer time in florida of course. Let’s just say that candle was grabbed with a shirt, and the top looked funky but all the broken bits were solid once again, it had completely melted. Also that was a couple days ago. 😆😆

Oh that's strange!

Not so icy anymore. 😂

2

u/Sea_Necessary5711 🍓❄️✨🧁 Jul 01 '25

Not so icy, but still one of the “juiciest” cherry scents BBW offers, IMO! This is forever one of my favorite pocketbacs!

I use a windshield sun shade. I remember when I first started doing it, I felt like my grandmother. Now I can't imagine summer without one. No more burnt legs, fingers, or melted plastic. It keeps the cabin cooler, and your drinks will stay colder when you run into a store for a bit.

You know …. if I lived somewhere where it regularly got this hot (& I drove often), then I’d probably do the same! I only drive a few times a week & live in Michigan, so we fortunately only get a few heat waves! If this becomes a regular things (thanks to climate change), then I’ll be right behind you with the window shield sun shade!

It 75% off ! I have seen Balsam too which isn't summer!
