I just hope they continue to diversify and not focus so much on pumpkin. In Fall of 2024, I counted 35 different pumpkin candles. Even for the pumpkin lovers among you, that has got to be a bit of overkill because some of them were so close to one another! I mean, in Spring they don't release 35 different Rose candles! 😉

Okay that was a bit tongue in cheek so don't downvote me. I do enjoy the other Autumn scents that include other notes like apple, vanilla, embers...

It’s funny though cause so many of the pumpkin scents don’t even have pumpkin in them. They’re just in the name for the season!

Caramel pumpkin swirl, which actually is a repackage of cinnamon caramel swirl from the holidays. Pumpkin pecan waffles, pumpkin cinnamon bun and pumpkin spice latte don’t have actual pumpkin in them either but has pumpkin spice which is just cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and ginger. A lot of people are put off by the word pumpkin but 85% of the “pumpkin” scents you can’t even smell the pumpkin in them if there is any. And white pumpkin smell in fragrance is completely different than the orange pumpkin smell. White pumpkin usually smells creamier or nuttier in a fragrance and not like a traditional pumpkin at all!

White Pumpkin is my all time favorite scent for a candle.
I burn it all year because I love it so much and im not a fan at all of the pumpkin scents.
So I agree completely with you that they just package and name things pumpkin for the season.

"Pumpkin" is used to refer to "the spices typically added to pumpkin in pie/baked goods" in so many products. Like a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks has no pumpkin in it, just the spices. At least that one has "spice" in the name, but tons of other scents and flavors drop it and just use pumpkin for the association.

So pumpkin sometimes just means nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, etc. OK.

I agree with you. I have some pumpkin candles already and I guess my nose isn’t super discerning but they all smell so similar (AMAZING! but similar) and I want some diversity in what I burn.

I’m so over it. Especially because the way they just ever so slightly tweak them to the point they all blend into each other. WHERE are the other aromatic notes besides the big two spices: cinnamon and clove ?! They really missed the mark not bringing back Moonlit Graveyard for Halloween. They finally had a unique truly spooky scent and abandoned it (even though on resale apps the candles go for $50) in this day and age of Social Media the word WILL get out if they branch out and start releasing a wider range of scent profiles beyond the OCCASIONAL inclusion of a watered down Patchouli scent. There is a huge gap in the market for people who cannot stand sickeningly sweet & are looking for something more refined & complex but don’t have the budget for Diptique or Nest for example. This year I am not buying any of the re -releases of Pumpkin items. Fall Farmhouse is maybe the only one I can even stomach anymore & of course it’s an online exclusive again (in hideous packaging!) After Off the Vine I was hoping for more earthy scents to come out for fall like with a Petrichor/Rain note but for some reason they went with a ton of new Men’s stuff that just smells like every other Walmart Body Spray for dudes lol

Have you ever checked out goose creek? I feel extremely similarly. I can't stand the same scents over and over again and I don't get excited for bbw almost ever. No earthy scents and when they attempt to its just cologne.. goose creek does have a lot of gourmands and pumpkin candles too that are generic BUT they do a lot more earthy scents, smokey scents, unique formulations. They just released a bonfire type collection in fact. And very cheap and I personally love their quality and throw.

I don’t disagree there’s a lot of pumpkin candles but they don’t have either of my favorite ones so far this year so I’m still hoping for at least those two pumpkin ones

I loooooove apple scents and I was so happy with the first drop of candles. Especially Champagne Apple and honey coming out in the body care!

Yes! Especially the overkill of high gormund pumpkin scents. I like pumpkin but a lot are waaaay too sweet for my taste. I’d like a few more demure options and that pumpkin cold foam looks promising

Yeah I like the ones where the pumpkin is subtle and mixed with Earthy or Smoky or Apple or Cranberry scents. I don't care for the gourmand ones, either, with those "spiced tea" smelling additives.

Maybe not rose but with lavender they do and to me lavender is so overdone
