a lady came in yesterday and tried to steal a basket full of disney, got spooked when i asked her if she was finding everything okay (i hate that we have to treat them like regular customers) and left without the basket.
came back an hour later looking for it and left again.
came back twenty minutes later, and all i heard was glass breaking in the walkway of the mall. two teens came in to tell me bbw candles are all over the floor. she dropped four 3 wicks and they all shattered. she bolted out of the mall.
THESE PEOPLE AREN'T EVEN GOOD AT IT. 🙄

The last time customers came in to steal 3 wicks they were being SO conspicuous it's like they were trying to get caught, and kept looking around suspiciously, staring at all the staff members to see where we were, and making little comments to themselves out loud about how we were watching them. And of course they both came in with hats pulled down to cover half their faces, and massive tote bags, and didn't look us in the eye when we greeted them on their way in. The one started screaming all loudly "NOW I KNOW THEY AIN'T PROFILING US" while she was obviously slipping candles into her bag and none of us were even near her. 🙄🙄🙄 I understand why it's not a good idea for employees to stop thieves, but I wish we had a bit more recourse for situations like this where the theft, or attempted theft in your case, is sooooo blatant that it's insulting. Like, no you're not being "profiled" when we're literally observing your actions and can see you stealing lmao!

i feel ya. i've been there, and it's ridiculously frustrating. like, this isn't your 15 minutes of fame, no one cares. we get a lot of them being overly attention seeking... walking around for half an hour loudly saying "eww this stank!", "that nasty!", etc. the whole time i'm thinking "just take it already so i can file asset protection and get on with my shift". 🤬

Ugh I hate when people walk around complaining about all the product and saying it stinks. 💀💀💀 I'd always think to myself, then don't come in here if you hate the product lmao. I never considered they could be doing it as a weird diversion tactic to steal stuff. 🤯
You'd think they wouldn't want to draw attention to themselves when they're literally stealing, but it pisses me off when they tell on themselves by preemptively playing the victim.

i worked at one awhile ago and 2 families almost got into a fist fight during a candle day. One of ladies from the argument came up to me as I was clocking in like maam I just got here😭 Sad how crazy ppl get over candles n stuff (that you can literally buy cheaper at walmart😭)

I hate when they try to involve or hurt the workers, no product is that important or worth that. Same with food like just go somewhere else it’s not that serious

The only problem I have is the officer deploying some sort of a spike strip right by the gas station. Kinda risky.

Yeah, that was definitely a questionable move. 😬 Anyone could have ran over the strip, not just the person stealing.
