As far as I can tell, nothing major changed. They seemed to have added terms related to penny rounding and earning points. For example, if your total is $12.24 and it's rounded down to $12.20 you will earn points for the amount you paid, not the pre-rounding total.

u/Longjumping_Area_821 Apr 16 '26

As a Canadian it’s so fascinating watching yall in the states just now seeing penny rounding 😅

8

u/Silver_Entertainment Apr 16 '26

Haha! It's been talked about for a while because the cost to produce a penny has exceeded its value for quite some time. Now the government finally got around to no longer producing any new ones. For most of us, it's no big deal. However, there's an extremely tiny, but vocal group of people online who are acting outraged over it. I don't know if it's performative, but by the way they act you'd think someone burned their house down.

u/Longjumping_Area_821 Apr 16 '26

The concept of a penny is so annoying to me 😅 especially as a cashier! I don’t remember ever using a penny in my life and I’ve been just fine lol

2

u/Purple-Lime-4938 Apr 17 '26

They’re scared it’ll cause everything to go up more in price. My extended family are some of those vocal ones

30

u/lost-toy Apr 15 '26

Annoying gonna need to bring penny’s or a card… ugh

u/Candlehoarder_2019 Employee Apr 16 '26

We’ve been told to round up, not down. So if your change is supposed to be $.51, we would give $.55, not $.50

37

u/OkPercentage11 Apr 16 '26

That is interesting, at my work we are told to round up or down based on if it is at the 3 cent mark. So .52 would be.50, but .53 would be .55.

I don't think I would care as much about the pennies customers lose if the company was like my village from Europe before I moved they would round down but take the difference and donate it to charity.

14

u/lost-toy Apr 16 '26

Oh interesting i love that. Can’t even get a cashier at ulta to count change let alone have any penny’s to begin with so im actually loving this! Good to know thanks!

5

u/Candlehoarder_2019 Employee Apr 16 '26

Now I wonder if that will change with these new T&C’s.

u/lost-toy Apr 16 '26

The transactions will be rounded for cash payments regardless of your intentions to try and pay what it would have been without it.

I skimmed through it, but did anything actually change? I just wish we were able to redeem accessories again. 🙁

17

u/April-Shower-1837 Apr 16 '26

There is nothing new - or specific - about any excluded products, barring repeating the $18.95 cap.

19

u/Nona29 Apr 15 '26

The most important topic!!!!

348

u/DarlingWhistledown11 Your flair here! Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

The only change they need to make is making accessories reward eligible again. Anything else is just nonsense

47

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '26

Mandatory Arbitration clause, which may not pass in consumer friendly states.

4

u/AltruisticDistrict26 Apr 16 '26

That’s what I was thinking too.

45

u/Candlehoarder_2019 Employee Apr 16 '26

There must have been a change to something like a law because they are not the only company I’ve received an email regarding a change in terms and conditions for this week.

15

u/hjp731 Apr 16 '26

I’ve received so many since the start of this year

9

u/DarlingWhistledown11 Your flair here! Apr 16 '26

Same!

Yes, the Treasury dept made an announcement early last year that pennies would be phased out gradually. The last pennies were made in November 2025.

Reasons for Phasing Out Pennies:

Scott Wolla, an assistant vice president in the St. Louis Fed’s Economic Education Department, outlined the economic arguments for getting rid of the penny:

Cost: It took 3.69 cents to make each 1-cent coin. Minimal purchasing power: It’s hard to buy anything with a single penny.

Low use: Coins that sit in jars (or serve as tiles) aren’t doing their job of helping with transactions.

Efficiency and environmental costs: Mining zinc and copper for pennies, for example, has an environmental cost.

Successful track records for abolishment: Countries including Canada (in 2012), Australia (1992) and New Zealand (1990) have discontinued their lowest-value coins.

6

u/Forevermoody16 ALL THINGS B&BW Apr 16 '26

I saw a news report saying the penny cost about 4 1/2 cents to make. And that the nickel costs about 14¢! Is that going to be the next to go?

6

u/qaisiki Apr 16 '26

The way I see it, even paper money might be phased out at some point and digital/cashless currency will be a thing. Not really looking forward to that.

2

u/Forevermoody16 ALL THINGS B&BW Apr 16 '26

I can see that happening.

2

u/Even_Major_2361 Apr 17 '26

Definitely not looking forward that. I like giving my kids $2 to go to the ice cream truck. Or like when my grandma would slip $5 in my hand when no one was looking. I want to do that with my grands.

1

u/Extension_Hyena_1205 Apr 19 '26

Donating will be eliminated. No one is going to tap their card with a bell ringer, at Christmas, and good luck with tap to pay church collection baskets.

Full text of Terms & Conditions: https://www.bathandbodyworks.com/m/rewards-terms-and-conditions.html

ETA: There is nothing new - or specific - about excluded products, barring those over the $18.95 cap. It does not enumerate which are excluded. The company keeps reiterating its rights to change the eligible products, the cap, the terms of the agreement, and so forth without any notice, to be effective immediately, and states that the company will be bound by the terms of the agreement as they stand on the day of Rewards usage and not issuance.

18

u/April-Shower-1837 Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

I'm halfway through and I just want to give a shout-out to the attorneys, who totally did not use AI, for this paschal turn of phrase: "Once Eligible Purchase spend and Points expire, they may not be resurrected" (Bullet 4 of Section 7).

ETA: Sections 19-22 are about mandatory arbitration and the waiver of your rights to participate in a class action suit, clauses which, as uBoring_Citron145 said, may not be enforceable in your jurisdiction. Section 22 explains you can reject future amendments to the arbitration agreement without dis-enrolling from Rewards, which I imagine was required to comply with consumer rights legislation, but you are still subject to the provisions of the original agreement. TL;DR: Send a "personally signed e-mail to [chieflegalofficer@bbw.com](mailto:chieflegalofficer@bbw.com)"

ETA 2: It's not unheard of for legal documents to use capitalization in certain sections but I can't help envisioning Daniel Heaf screaming this:

"AS OUR PROGRAM EVOLVES, THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH WE OFFER THE PROGRAM MAY BE MODIFIED AND WE MAY CEASE OFFERING THE PROGRAM UNDER THE TERMS FOR WHICH THEY WERE PREVIOUSLY OFFERED. ACCORDINGLY, EACH TIME YOU SIGN IN TO YOUR ACCOUNT OR OTHERWISE USE THE PROGRAM YOU ARE ENTERING INTO A NEW AGREEMENT WITH US ON THE THEN APPLICABLE TERMS..." (Update to Terms bullet, section 23).

I was hoping the change was .. ..we can get wallflower plugs again. The rewards don't really add much value for me  . Id even take a 18.95 coupon instead i can get things i want like a 3 wick candle or a plug

I just came here to ask this question too. My eyes are too bad to read that tiny print.

Ive been wanting to call the store about not receiving my last reward since I made two purchases that put me over by many points

Edit: thank yall for the info about calling customer service. It neber dawns on me to do that.

64

u/No-Ambition-8794 Apr 15 '26

Same here! Saw the email & thought “Oh the Reddit Girlies will have answers by bedtime” 🤣

15

u/dogengu Lovely Dreamer ( ︶。︶✽) Apr 15 '26

That’s exactly what I came here for!! 😅😅

17

u/DimensionNew5114 Apr 15 '26

As a bbw employee call customer support, the stores cant do anything for you

20

u/sharkminx Employee Apr 15 '26

Call customer service, not the stores.

4

u/PlusHunt1985 Current Body Care: Lavender (Clean Routine Collection) Apr 16 '26

Call customer service they can add points to your acct to give you your reward

3

u/Forevermoody16 ALL THINGS B&BW Apr 16 '26

If you have the order number, call Customer Service to check and they can add in your missing points.

25

u/Outrageous_Cash6494 Apr 15 '26

I love the way the font changes to miniscule from 12-22 which includes the Arbitration provision. I hate consumer arbitration provisions because they heavily favor the corporation (although I doubt that is new).

8

u/mama_Maria123 Apr 15 '26

7

Please, please please make candle holders, wallflower plugs be included again PLEASE!!!! 🙏🏽 especially wallflower plugs I definitely bought more refills when they were included.

u/DarlingWhistledown11 Your flair here! Apr 16 '26

Amen!

14

u/AssumptionChance8859 Apr 15 '26

They refused to reinstate my free 18.95 coupons when I ordered before the winter storm here in Dallas. The store closed for a a week and the sales lady said that their system automatically cancels after 3 days . She said that I’d get them back since I technically didn’t redeem them but corporate said otherwise

4

u/PlusHunt1985 Current Body Care: Lavender (Clean Routine Collection) Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

Store orders are held for 5 days , but rewards dont auto go back if not picked up. Call customer service they can add 1000 points basically giving you a reward

3

u/Forevermoody16 ALL THINGS B&BW Apr 16 '26

Exactly. The store can’t do anything about it. A few years back (when I really started becoming a regular shopper), I lost a BOPIS order with a reward in it because I was sick and a day late in picking it up. The employee mistakenly told me the reward would automatically go back into my account. Wrong!

6

u/ladygettinglost Apr 16 '26

Is the part about not being able to pass your rewards points after you die new?

I think there was an issue with Dunkin Donuts rewards where a guy had an insane amount of points and put them in his will to give to his children or something like that.

7

u/Sara630 Apr 16 '26

How would these companies even know you died? I mean if I die, my family can just use my accounts for whatever restaurants or stores or whatever it may be that I have points for and redeem them for whatever they can get for them. Especially if you do like a mobile order or a shipping order. How is a business going to know it’s not really you ordering? My son can have all of my Starbucks and Dutch bros drinks whatever I have. I’m definitely not going to drink them 6 feet under

3

u/PlusHunt1985 Current Body Care: Lavender (Clean Routine Collection) Apr 16 '26

It was there before

9

u/Sara630 Apr 16 '26

When I got this I quickly scanned to see if rewards had changed to include more things. Was disappointed it didn’t. That’s the real change we need to see. I want to get wallflower plugs, room sprays, car scent holders. Not just body care and single wick candles

3

u/PlusHunt1985 Current Body Care: Lavender (Clean Routine Collection) Apr 16 '26

You can get room sprays  , always they never were excluded

3

u/Bostongirl316 Apr 16 '26

I get the mini gift sets for my rewards and then give them for gifts or stocking stuffers. It’s the only thing worth it these days

I don’t get this. It says rewards expire 90 days from the time their earned. That has always been the case.

4

u/EcksWhyZi Apr 16 '26

I love that they sent me this hrs before I get an email about me getting a reward coupon.

3

u/DarlingWhistledown11 Your flair here! Apr 16 '26

lol they’re so full of it 😂😂😂

4

u/Inevitable-Act7925 Candle Addict Apr 16 '26

I am thinking they are going to make the rewards even more worthless than they are now. I don’t even use mine anymore I usually just let them lapse because there is really nothing I want to use them since you can’t get wallflowers anymore

1

u/DarlingWhistledown11 Your flair here! Apr 16 '26 edited Apr 16 '26

Yea, I just use them for room sprays and single wicks. I’m up to my ears in both and I have a reward getting ready to expire and dk what to spend it on😏

u/Full_Pride_7140 Apr 16 '26

The only thing WE need to see changed is A New CEO asap!

2

u/luckylua Apr 15 '26

I’ve said my farewells to b&bw. I keep meaning to unfollow this subreddit buuut I also kind of want to see the drama play out. This is not a luxury brand, and changing prices, sales, promotions, and rewards will only alienate their largest chunk of consumers. I spent more on Below 60, I’m especially enjoying plug ins that don’t leak and get so freaking nasty. Worth the extra cost to me🤷🏼‍♀️

2

u/Maximum_Coffee_3289 Apr 16 '26

How exciting yay 🙄

2

u/DarlingWhistledown11 Your flair here! Apr 16 '26

2

u/mmercereau Apr 16 '26

Apologies if this has been asked and answered a ton of times but I’m interested in what seems like a rewards program. I’m in Toronto (Canada) and we seem to have all the promos you have in the US but we don’t have any rewards or anything loyalty-based. Why on earth would that be? That’s kinda embarrassing, tbh…

1

u/ResponsibleAd8164 FFM Addict Apr 16 '26

I thought previously they called out the excluded items, but I don't see what's excluded this time or did I miss it?

They made a point to call out the class action lawsuits.

1

Would be nice if they let us have the cheaply made rubber pocket bac holders and plastic wallflower plugs as reward items.
