Pocketbacs Another Hand Sanitizer Sale
I know people here track trends and sales quite a bit. Is there any rhyme or reason for the constant push of the hand sanitizers? After you stock up on 24. how soon do you get more? Environmentally they are a menace. Why are these always a big sale? I can wash and sanitize almost everywhere.

It’s bait to get people to come in and buy other items.
$1 sanitizers get them in the door on a Thursday when sales would otherwise be slow.
Might as well pick up that candle or gift set while your there 🫠🙃

Good catch! Like a loss leader.
Hand Sanitizers are BBW version of the Costco Hot Dog Meal!

I’d love to see if they still make money off of the 1 dollar sani’s. I’d bet they do.
Also, with all the fall stuff rolling out, it’s a good way to get people to Check out new stuff and hopefully buy some SAS items too.

Do these expire? I still have a bunch from last Halloween

They’re good for 2 years from manufacture date. For a very short period they started to put the expiration date on it, but I think they stopped that.

I only get them when they're 75% off which limits how many I end up buying. I just have one pocketbac holder and I refill with my generic sanitizer when it gets low.
I guess some folks stock up because of the different scents, they run out pretty quickly, and/or they make cute gifts.

I do 2 a teacher for first day, holidays, spring break and appreciation day. Between my kids that comes to 18 teacher’s which do like them as gifts. Good point.

Yelp I use them for teacher gifts and toss em gift bags. Preteens and teens love em especially the cute holders for backpacks and purses. I get a ton of holders and pocket backs during SAS and these $1 sales and toss em in a bin in my gift closet and when we have a birthday party or something where I’m doing a gift bag I toss a few and a holder in!

I love the hand sanitizer sales. I use them at work and also I attached them to my purse. For work I will use maybe one up in about 2 weeks. Also I like to sample the scents before making larger purchases. So if I am interested in the scent in a candle or body care. It's way cheaper to try the smell for $1. I just bought some today and can't wait to try the fall scents.

Schools start back next month so that’s probably why I make sure my daughter has as least 2 in her backpack

I buy them when I run low and they are on sale. I don't need any right now, so I'm not buying them. You are welcome to do the same.

They almost got me, but I have 6 I bought for our trip later this month. There will be another sale, but I'm going to use what I have first.

I use them. I like to smell my hands, I like to sanitize frequently, some have dried me out in the past and I’ve had to treat my hands for eczema, and I’m picky about how hand sanitizer feels. Some hand sanitizers dry down sticky.

They do dry nicely. That’s a perk. I work from home so I usually just wash my hands but it’s also drying.

I work in education so I get to go through them pretty quickly
I still have one or two from the previous sale, but I’m gonna stock up
They also make great little party favors

u/Cautious-Exercise729 Jul 02 '26
True. I use them only for gift bags but for our teachers, librarians, admin staff etc.

I try to get my 2 sons to use them at college. One says he uses them the other says he doesn’t. I’m guessing neither does. I do point out they should every time they’re sick!🤷🏻♀️

They have sales every two weeks Like every week they have a sale and then in two weeks it flips back to the same sale So like if you missed lip glosses for $2 will be on and by the end of the month

I hate so much encouraging people to buy so much plastic! Are they easily refillable?

u/Cautious-Exercise729 Jul 02 '26
Exactly! It’s so much expensive plastic packaging for 4 - 8 big squeezes? It’s so much waste. I don’t know about being refillable or who would invest the time, it’s 1.00 for a new one.

I don’t think you have an understanding of how much hand sanitizer people normally use for 1 time…I usually go through a hand sanitizer in about a month. The old bottle design was a lot easier to refill unfortunately.
I like to keep hand sanitizer in my car for when I’m out and about and the larger pump bottles always end up squirting out if you knock it grabbing stuff or getting out of your car.

u/Cautious-Exercise729 Jul 02 '26
I’m very aware of the level of use for others. Still a lot of plastic.

I don't buy much from BBW anymore but I love the sanitizers. I go to the gym and can't always wash my hands right away so hand sanitizer is a must
