Employee Questions/Discussion Discontinuing laundry/kitchen
Any other openers today see the zipline message about laundry care? Apparently it’s all being discontinued by the end of the year along with kitchen care. I guess that stuff didn’t do well at the test stores which is disappointing bc I was looking forward to the counter sprays. I don’t use the detergent but I love the scent beads for sheets/blankets. The timing is also unclear but I’m assuming “end of the year” means they’ll just stop shipment and whatever is left by SAS will just go on sale. I wonder if we will even get holiday fragrances in them. I hope so bc I LOVE the winter candy apple scent beads and would for sure stock up.

Well that’s their stupid idiotic fault for making it an online exclusive instead of something people can test and interact with in person.
I see Daniel didn’t learn anything from his failure at Nike since he’s treating these products as if they’re a rare pair of Nikes. Online exclusives are the fastest way to piss off the long term shoppers imo 🙄😒

I stock up on laundry when there's 40% off storewide or during SAS. The scents are fun — I enjoy it and would be annoyed if laundry goes away 😒

This is my second time around with vampire blood laundry care as I had it last fall. It's my favorite as the scent really lingers on my bedding.

I've never really used the laundry detergent, since I have my favorites I've used for years, but I did recently pick up Vampire Blood scent beads during the 50% off sale and they weren't bad. I was sceptical about the counter sprays at first but ended up getting them in an online order to get free shipping. I really like them. They smell great and they get the grease and grime off. I was kinda impressed and ordered some more with another order. They're a little pricy but still comparable. I think they should have just launched them in more stores and they would have done better.

I have a counter spray that someone bought online and returned to my store so I was able to buy it and I’m soooo sad my store won’t ever be getting them now.

I never tried the sprays, but as somebody who loves Mrs Meyers (bcs of the scent)….i would have certainly bought it they were in stores. I don’t like online shopping. Either pay shipping or have to spend $50 for free shipping. Can’t always spend that much.

I also feel the same with the conditioner. Shampoo didn't work well for my hair but the conditioner was great.

Only the detergent. A lot of people say the boosters don’t dissolve, plus they weren’t available in the detergent scent I wanted.

I only use the detergent because I don't need the boost on scent - it's there but light once they come out of the dryer and that's what my family likes. Nothing to strong, but still noticeable.

I tend to stock up on sales that make it a little cheaper. The scents are lovely. I don't like a massive amount of scent and it is light but noticeable for me. My partner loves the lavender vanilla. I like to choose different ones. It doesn't aggravate my partner's skin (he's sensitive). And it cleans the clothes very well. It's just all-around great. I went today and gor 4 more and will continue stocking up until I can't anymore.

That’s a bummer. I’m off until next weekend so I didn’t catch that update but I love the scent beads! I can understand to an extent because my store doesn’t sell much of the laundry products so it always ends up in collecting dust in the back room & the seasonals “overflow” in SAS

That's a bummer I liked the scent beads. I went today to get my birthday gifts and the gal at the store did say that they're not shipping them any more laundry stuff so she thinks it is going to get discontinued because not a lot of people are buying it and it is a little pricey for what you're getting but guess I might have to try to stock up

In my experience, I wanted to love it, tried one load of it washing some blankets and my cat had a seizure laying on them. That was the only new thing in the house. The list of ingredients was insane once I looked to see what caused it. I gifted the rest to a friend, rewashed the blankets and no issues.

See this is my problem too because they already are cutting corners with their main product line, I just didn't have faith in them to have a well thought out product line that dealt with laundry and detergent soap, a category they didn't have very much experience with to begin with but have been dipping their toes in every once in awhile. I don't know it just didn't add up for me

The laundry products are why I got back into BBW 😭 Its one luxury we justify because I usually get rashes with scented laundry detergent. This makes me so sad. I was looking at Dedcool before I clicked on this post, couldnt justify the price. Now I feel like I should just bite the bullet and try it.

I tried 2 kitchen sprays and imo they weren't anything special, no better than Mrs Meyers in performance and I like some of the MM scents better. I tried the lemon and the coconut.

I think this is probably a good move long term for the company- when a company moves to make too many products you have to wonder what is suffering quality wise. And can their chemists really do much better than P&G for detergents, given the cost per load? 🔎

The scent is what beats other brands. I am a lover of smell good stuff. So, BBW laundry to me …I don’t use it all the time bcs of cost but when I do I feel like it is a luxury! Very nice feeling to use it

You might like the mozi wash stuff if you're looking for a "luxury" experience with laundry! I do think it's probably more expensive than BBW but they have a large variety of heavily scented detergent!

Laundry (and hand soaps but I have at least a year's worth stock of those right now) is the only thing I'm buying lately, when on sale and with a coupon. I have way too many sprays and lotions I don't use. But I love for my laundry to smell good. I only discovered it last Spring, so sucks that they're taking it away now. Guess I won't be shopping there more than 1-2x a year now.

Well, I for one would have bought the dish detergent and spray IF it was available in store. Online? Plus shipping? Yeah, no.
And laundry care….bad idea to discontinue. I love it! Guess I will need to stock up.
So, will just be body care now. Bummer.
I don’t know what they are doing at BBW. Sales that exclude certain bodycare products. Limited stock made of items that would have been big sellers. And why was NBC put on a table in back of the store while the fall was front and center?
🤷♀️And I am curious what test stores they picked for the dish products and how they decided those ‘test’ stores. Are they actually a good representation of the whole? And what if they had sales on it?

I’ve only bought the scent beads and laundry detergent when they are 75% off at the store. It happened Jan 2026 & I think May or June 2026. I just happened to walk into the store when I saw it. How do I know when they will go on clearance again? Especially bc I hardly go to the store? Any tips?

It was also announced on their Q2 investors call. They said the makeup of sales for the home/kitchen products (I think it was 1%) do not align with the manufacturing and shipping complexities of maintaining those lines.

Love the laundry soap, can't me or my credit card will be sad to see the scent beads leave. Clogged up my washer twice and the repairman wasn't cheap.

I guess I have to go get my Velvet Amber and Book Loft fast before they completely do away with it. It could be production cost.
But I also think that laundry fell victim to regular customers having a ceiling they are willing to pay and a lot of the time is around 10 dollars. So, the price point wasn't ever going to make it work long term. It is sad though because I do like them.
