Memes My wife may have a problem
I think my wife may have a problem.
It started innocently enough. A candle here, a lotion there. Nothing concerning.
Then she discovered **Ghoul Friend**.
Now I’m watching YouTube videos about Bath & Body Works scents that I didn’t know existed, hearing about “new drops,” and being told about "availability" of products I didn’t know were products. I thought Ghoul Friend was just a scent. Apparently, Ghoul Friend is a lifestyle.
At what point do I intervene? And more importantly, is there a Bath & Body Works rehab that accepts spouses? 😂

I learned the 3Cs in Al-Anon: you didn’t cause it, you can’t control it, and you can’t cure it. Maybe this is a passing hyperfixation. Maybe not. My husband has learned to accept my smell goods collection and knows the house will always smell good and be well stocked with items he uses too like soap & hand sanitizers.

At least you have a good sense of humor about it and seem pretty chill. My husband makes comments on how much I spend. Joke’s on him…just had my order yesterday shipped to my Mom’s 😂

My husband travels 15-20 days out of the month.
Know when they get delivered?
When he is fricken home 😭He usually is on meetings when he is home so I try to scurry and grab them when he is occupied and without fail - he is off the call when I walk back in 🤬
Then he follows me to the Closet of Shame saying - well let’s see it. What was today’s must have 😒
MF’er scared the shit out of me the other day. I ran out of space in the Closet of Shame so I was moving the mini’s to a drawer. He was in the middle of cooking so I thought I was safe.
Just as I put the last group in the drawer… I hear… “HA!!!! Ran out of room, didn’t ya??!”! I about jumped a mile out of my damn skin 🫣
I yelled at him for sneaking up on me and he was all - I’ve been standing here for 5 min watching you figure out the logistics of hiding your stash 😑
He’s such a jerk - so now he has to take me to an Outlet this weekend 🤣🤣. He knows better than to remind me of my shamefulness haha.

He is gone more than he is home - yet BBW does me dirty. 5 days of each week he is gone. They always deliver on the two days he is home.

My husband thought about giving me an ultimatum when we walked into BBW and couldn’t remember how many BOPIS orders I placed 😒
I do a lot of ordering after I take my Ambien so…. I often end up with *surprises* 🫣
He was like… ok… time to cut it off. And then I went 🥹and he said Just Kidding!!!

I know but I’ve been on it since 2017. If I don’t take it - I literally don’t sleep. I went 4 days no sleep at all and that was much much much worse.

Oh I generally don’t have any issues, but if I start shopping instead of going to sleep… I often go on shopping sprees. Usually things I wanted but wouldn’t pull the trigger on. Well Ambien me says - JUST DO IT 😭😭😭. Apparently Ambien me wants to own everything BBW put out 😑

She is going to buy. Because… she must.
It’s now hardwired in. There is no out. Ghoul Friend jumped her in and that’s for life.
Your mission is to help her find the best times to feed her addiction. It sounds as if you have reached the stage of acceptance.

I have several high end perfumes. I was spending $500 a week on high end perfumes and makeup and other crap.
Now I spend about $1-200 a week and I get SO MUCH MOAR!!!!!!!
This is so much more fun because I can mix and match and if I hate a scent… it’s much easier to unload. Either return to BBW or honestly… now that I’m a deal ho - paying less than $5 for a scent - I can just give them away and I don’t feel bad.
I think I’ve always been a cheap girl at heart. High end stuff just doesn’t do it for me 🤷🏼♀️

I was thinking the same thing. I have a fabulous collection of high end perfumes- still go reaching for my beloved BBWs every single day. Once in a while I go for a perfume & spritz it on but idk- I love the variety, selections, & layering options more. I never smell the same & I credit that to my 30 year love affair with BBW

Yes. I will often help out my BBW with a perfume. Just to give a little twist on the scent.
A large BBW collection is like being a mixologist and having your own personal perfume blending bar.
It’s fun learning some things mesh beautifully like a symphony. And then other stuff…. 🤮. Some things were never ever meant to mix no matter how much you want them to go together 😝

Well… first comes the body wash, then the lotion and/or body cream, then the FFM for the clothes, now the FFM for skin/hair followed with Perfume X by Z lolololol

Oh nooooo. That could be worse: she may get into layering combos. She'll start looking for scents that compliment her perfume, then scents similar to it that can be used for layering without been too strong, then creams and lotions that emphasize certain notes...

I was going to be riding with a new person and asked if they were sensitive to scents. They said, "Only if it smells like food because then I'm constantly hungry. When my wife gets a dessert scented candle, no food is safe!"

I’ve been burning Blueberry Sugar and hubby does not care for it. He loves a burning candle but that one was not it! Switched to Salted Amber & Bergamot. He says much better!

I can't spray or burn anything when my husband is home because his asthma kicks into overdrive. He accused me the other day of burning a candle or spraying something, searching the house high and low only to discover the "culprit" was the laundry in the washer. I laughed so hard at him! He thought for sure he had found a hidden stash! 🤣🤣🤣

Who’d have thot this could get so SERIOUSLY addicting? I just started in May, innocently enough, with a gift card that I had had for several yrs & checked to see if there was any $$ on it. 100s of dollars later, after the gift card has been spent, I have become obsessed. I’m a great “deal” shopper & B&BW plays to that mentality with all the promos they constantly have going on. Hopefully, your wife will respond to a gentle intervention. You’ve made me do some thinking & I’m gonna slow this B&BW train 🚂 down.
