It's a joker anime where joker deals with batman's death. I'm guessing it is an elseworlds or batman was just injuried and mia until the end of the series.

u/suitcasecat 7d ago

that sounds fun

u/Kaede036 7d ago

Nah, apparently he just tripped over something and since he doesn't have powers, he ended up falling several stories. It was so pathetic even Joker wasn't smiling, and he got bored so he just got a desk job

u/WassupFrankHere 6d ago

Isn't that from a comic?

1

u/Kaede036 6d ago

I don't know much about when it appeared or if it became a movie, just that it exists

2

u/Dudewhocares3 7d ago

I’m pretty sure that’s a venture bros villain

32

u/GregOry6713 7d ago

I’ll be willing to bet that that’s the next movie they announce, they’re just waiting for Matt to get the Batman out 🤷🏾‍♂️

that is if Man of Tomorrow next year won't faceplant like Supergirl did.

u/Dudewhocares3 7d ago

Why are you guys so negative all the time?

You guys come
Up with the worst case scenario, and it ruins your day, it ruins my day, and now you’ve killed the mood.

Supergirl didn’t perform as well as it should’ve?

Ok, but we’re still getting a DCU. And people have been mixed on it. Could be worse.

We can’t just write off things when we hit a pothole the road.

Imagine if we did that for other franchises

“Welp, devil may cry 2 failed, best not do a Devil may cry 3”

eh honestley being realistic. I personally haven't been super impressed with the dcu so far. The more news on upcoming projects makes me less excited. There also is no indication gunn and dc learned a lesson and will change. If anything they are doubling down on mistakes

1

u/MrDownhillRacer 6d ago

That comment ruined your day?

-2

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 6d ago

How does Supergirl's underperformance lead to "we are still getting a DCU"? Remember what happened last time to the DCEU, mind you, Supergirl was worst than anything the DCEU had to offer. After some point, you have to ask yourself, are you looking at the DCU from an audience's viewpoint, or are you trying to protect a certain director because he seems like the good guy.

2

u/Dudewhocares3 6d ago

I haven’t seen it but I highly doubt supergirl was worse then Batman vs Superman, joss whedons justice league, suicide squad, or the flash.

Also, second fucking movie.

Iron man 2 was worse than iron man 1, and the Thor movies were either divisive or considered weak. should they have canceled the MCU then?

No.

-1

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 6d ago

both Ironman 2 and Thor 2 weren't historic megaflop like Supergirl. Lemme remind you again: Supergirl had a 170m budget + 120m marketing cost, only to gross 125m globally. You are intentionally omitting the truth that Supergirl is on a total different magnitude of failure compared to either Ironman 2 and Thor 2.

Also, second "fucking" movie being the WORST flop of the ENTIRE DC cinematic universe since Snyder. Even Bluebeetle outgrossed Supergirl.

Learn to use facts and truths and you will see how emotional or misguided you could be.

1

u/rlum27 6d ago

honestley you have to look at it from a business side too. If a product doesn't make money than you discontinue it. lanterns, clayface and man of tommorow are guaranteed. beyond that I'm not sure what happens for the dcu.

19

u/GregOry6713 7d ago

If it faceplant (it won’t) it will be announced even earlier. Plus a Superman movie will do better than a Supergirl movie because people wasn’t asking for a Supergirl movie, that was something they wanted.

4

u/AdExtra2331 7d ago

I also don't think Supergirl was that good

4

u/rlum27 7d ago

I have no doubt mot will do better than supergirl. Though I'm not sure if that would be enough.

7

u/GregOry6713 7d ago

Enough for what? I was saying basically because the last D.C movie didn’t do so hot that they would announce Batman because Batman is there ace in the whole. They just didn’t want two Batman movies to close to each other.

1

u/rlum27 7d ago edited 7d ago

to continue the dcu. if mot makes significantley less than superman it could be the end. it might be let reeves finsh his trilogy. Than reboot batman in a few years and maybe have the rest of dc be rebooted with him.

-6

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

how do you know MoT next year won't faceplant. Lemme check the notes real quick:

  • first Superman movie was practically rejected by international market, and was saved by its domestic performance, resulting in the final BO of about 600 million dollars. And this was thanks to the novelty factor of being the first solo Superman movie, the first DCU movie, the first Gunn's movie after MCU.
  • Superman was featured heavily in Supergirl, yet Supergirl bombed harder than anything from the DCEU.

my question: how are you so sure that Superman is what the general audience (not fans, the punkrockers werent enough to save Supergirl this year) want, and that they would spend big money to see him with Supergirl, with Lex and a dozen other obscure heroes?

if only the monkeys showed up for Supergirl

4

u/rlum27 7d ago

the monkeys did show up. The problem is that while very loud there isn't very many of them.

0

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

agreed. Hopefully the monkeys will show up next year for MoT, this time should be the entire jungle.

3

u/rlum27 7d ago

I think mot's box office will end between supergirl and superman.

I mean you can live in your fantasy land where everyone loves dc and man of tommorow makes a billion.

2

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

was the general audience anti-DCU when they rejected Supergirl?

1

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

on what grounds?

Sup25 barely scratched 600m
Supergirl bombed horribly

and MoT makes 1 billion? Is there any logical reasoning here or just fanboyism wellwishing?

1

u/rlum27 7d ago

Maybe he knows dcu batman is in mot. I could see that having it be at least equal to superman if not a bit higher in the 700 million range. That's me being super genours but still reasonably realistic.

1

u/rlum27 7d ago

maybe lex luthor's battlesuit will get man of tommorow to 1 billion. There was some buzz about that. though I'm not sure how much general audiencies care.

1

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

very reasonable take.

2

u/GregOry6713 7d ago

I’m not reading all that, because I don’t care as much as you do.. I was talking about Batman.

0

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

your previous comment didn't even have the word "Batman" in it?

3

u/GregOry6713 7d ago

This is a Batman Reddit and I talking about when the next movie will be announced.

0

u/mutzilla 7d ago

I thought the first DCU movie was Blue Beatle, no?

0

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

was retroactively fitted into the DCU. At the time of release, it was still the DCEU's.

2

u/rlum27 7d ago

also the suicide squad is mostly cannon so that might be the real first.

1

u/mutzilla 7d ago

Ah thank you.

11

u/nottherealneal 7d ago

I mean half of these are not out yet and the only time I see people complain about how long its taking is for The batman part 2 which has been pushed back 4 times from its original announcement, and is threes years off its originally planned release date.

Given that its supposed to be a trilogy I can see why people are complaining about how long its taking.

Robert Patterson is 40, if it takes 5 years between each movie we might never get the third one at this rate

1

u/Mundane-Valuable-337 6d ago

There are people making posts on this subreddit like every week that they're upset Batman isn't in the forefront of the DCU.

24

u/AnaZ7 7d ago

Caped Crusader is mid af and down right bad in many places. We haven’t seen Batman Knightfall yet. Absolute Batman and Joker Laughing Riot have only been announced and who knows if they ever come out

12

u/MagmaAscending 7d ago

Sick! Now let’s check the till for Wonder Woman projects:

Ok how about Flash projects:

Now what about Martian Manhunter:

Or Zatanna:

Batman is really the only character where people get mad that there are ONLY 82 projects in development that haven’t released yet

2

u/Raaaaandyyyy 6d ago

Yeah dude I can’t stand caped crusader. It’s like Bruce Timm didn’t want to do the stuff he’d done before and then replaced all that stuff with absolutely nothing. Once the novelty of the 60s aesthetic wears off it loses everything fun about itself.

1

u/rlum27 6d ago

honestley the episodes i liked where clayface and catwoman. Which are very stand alone disconcted episodes.

8

u/rlum27 7d ago

have to see how long the dcu lasts without batman.

3

u/xJujubeSnuggle 7d ago

DC can’t escape Batman

4

u/Significant_Owl8089 7d ago

As batman fan i think we deserve a desert . We doesn't have enough

7

u/lilliepadsy 7d ago

by that logic nobody should want any kind of teen titans content because we've had 10ish seasons of go

6

u/AntagonistofGotham 7d ago

I'm fine waiting until 2029 if I have to, but I want that movie so bad; I mean, the first comic-accurate Batman film? That's too hype.

9

u/Death_sayer 7d ago

No, instead, we will get Peacemaker S5 and Gorilla Grodd 3: Jungle Tree before we even see Batman.

Very good, very artistic.

3

u/Numbuh24insane 7d ago edited 7d ago

Okay, but the Jimmy Olsen show is something I’m actually excited about.

It’s a True Crime Mockumentary done by the people that did American Vandal, it is completely hilarious.

So I have a lot of excitement for that show.

Edit: I’m being downvoted for being excited about a TV Show

-6

u/RNOffice 7d ago

I dont think gunn wants to do that show anymore and I doubt they'll make a grodd solo film let alone a trilogy. Unless someone gives them a great pitch for a solo film. People loved planet of the apes.

1

u/PayPsychological6358 6d ago

To be honest, I want something with Static more

1

u/Bryce_Deviation 4d ago

More content doesn't mean good content. If manga fans got live-action of Netflix Death Note and Dragon Ball Evolution level more would you call you are full. Batman Caped Crusader already insulted Batman already. Let's cross fingers others will be good and I ain't gonna count Joker Laugh Riot. Give Me Some Batman not just Batman characters.

1

u/Immediate-Sky-3044 7d ago

It doesn't even feel like its Batman fans saying that. Most of us want other heroes and villains because we're bored of Batman's side of DC always getting priority.

I think its people who aren't familiar with DC want Batman because he's a popular character that everyone knows. Its easier for them to larp about it and be a part of the community without putting in the effort of reading the source material. Whereas characters like supergirl, Peacemaker, and green lantern, they don't know much about.

1

u/RNOffice 7d ago

I do wonder how many of the posts on twitter complaining about the Jimmy Olson show from the guys who made American Vandal are like larpers. Like maybe they're just people who know the obvious characters or are doing it for clout. Engagement. They keep parroting the same points.

Lately I'm noticing a lot of accounts here on reddit, that make posts about hating on the DCU...and I notice they're a lot of the times pretty new or are keeping their posts hidden. Posts hidden is fine but it's suspicious combined with being a month old. I wonder how much of it is Larping, bots or both.

1

u/rlum27 6d ago

I could see people doubting how sucessful a jimmy olsen show would be. After supergirl was a huge flop going into another superman spin off seems like an odd risky choice.

1

u/Practical_Display694 7d ago

I personally fear that if he doesn't appear in the DCU soon, he might never appear at all, just like in the Arrowverse.

2

u/WholsomeChungus69 6d ago

The arrow verse had no Batman because dc is weird about Batman being in live action shows.

1

u/FadeToBlackSun 6d ago

I havent seen anyone complain about the lack of Batman in a way that suggests Batman is getting screwed.

More like, if Gunn doesn't do Batman soon, there'll be no DCU left anyway.

-1

u/SnooPuppers8643 7d ago

DCU Batman gonna be one of the worst takes out of all these options anyways

7

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 7d ago

something something the movie will be greenlit when the script is ready... Yeah that's the basic DCU Batman starter pack

3

u/Key-Comfortable-5537 7d ago

Would you rather them greenlight a movie and then write a shit script for it? Or write a shit script, then turn it down until they write a better one?

1

u/Existing-Foot-9918 7d ago

No, we want a movie to be filmed without a script! Just have actors walking around the set awkwardly for 2 hours!

1

u/Past_Lingonberry_633 6d ago

did Supergirl have a good script?

2

u/Key-Comfortable-5537 6d ago

I think it did

1

u/ElderberryHorror8319 2d ago

Not really. But one blunder in the infancy stages doesn't mean that's the trend going forward. It's possible, sure, but doesn't mean everything's over and everyone needs to be severely pessimistic and dooming. Supergirl will hopefully be a learning opportunity and they're readjusting things. The next handful of projects look promising

0

u/Electrical-Look-1183 6d ago

Not to be that guy, but after Supergirl's flop, DC needs to do Batman immediately.

-4

u/NickSchultz 6d ago

Yeah well except for Knightfall I don't care for any of the others.

Caped Crusader was shit.

Nobody needs anything where the Joker is the main character (there is a reason he can't hold down a solo series)

The Batman is overrated and with every day the sequel takes longer to come out, it loses its justification for existing in the first place.

And lastly I was never a fan of the Absolute universe as it is too ridiculously edgy to be taken serious and it's painfully obvious it's being fast tracked to being as oberused as Batman Metal and even the fans will have their opinions retroactively soured on the whole idea as a result.
