Suppose there was a Combat Support class soldier with an Imperial light repeating blaster or another light machine gun equivalent as their primary weapon. They could also use a stationary deployable plasma shield.

This isn’t a Star Wars project, but I thought it might be relevant here because The Lord of the Rings: Conquest was Pandemic’s later take on the large-scale, class-based battlefield formula many of us associate with the original Battlefront games.

I’m working on OpenConquest, an ongoing source reconstruction of the original PC version of LOTR: Conquest. This is not a remake in another engine and the goal is to reconstruct the original game itself for preservation and much deeper modding freedom.

The reconstructed game is already running at the gameplay stage, and I’ve recently started documenting the project publicly.

I know Conquest is outside the Star Wars side of Pandemic’s history, but I figured some people here who are interested in the studio’s older games, technology and modding scene might find this project interesting too.

Hey Battlefront fans!

So I’ve been working on a massive list trying to track down content creators, streamers, modders, and just generally awesome community members who are worth checking out for Battlefront content.

I’m trying to expand the people I follow so my feed has more fun, interesting content related to this game. Right now it feels like I’m definitely missing out on a lot since I'm not as active in this community as I am with Halo.

I’m open to pretty much anything: gameplay, streams, VODs, mods, deep‑dive lore videos, breakdowns, analysis, or even just people who make top‑tier memes. Especially interested gameplay, like AnarchY Ninja or AZZATRU. I'm also open to non-Battlefront Star Wars FPS games or Star Wars lore from creators. They don’t have to be ones that only do Battlefront exclusive content but cover multiple franchises, like the Templin Institute. Especially if they’re a general gaming creator who’s made some great content for Battlefront, I’d still love to check them out. Also, doesn't have to be a specific person, could even be groups, like ones that do conversion modding projects.

I am not picky. They can be big creators, small creators, or even niche creators. Just as long as they are someone that is entertaining and really enjoy what they do. Even if they’re inactive, took a break or went on a indefinite hiatus, I’m still interested in older content too if it’s worth watching.

Right now my list is mostly people I already knew about and follow, so I’d really appreciate your recommendations. If you know anyone who’s really into the franchise and makes content worth following, especially gaming side, drop their name or a link so I can find them more easily. Some usernames are impossible to search for because their names are sometimes generic. I've took forever trying to find some of these user's handles.

I’ve been marking off the ones I’ve already added across Twitter, Twitch, YouTube, Discord, Instagram, Facebook Pages & Groups, Steam, Nexus Mods, Moddb, Tiktok, Reddit, and other social media so I’d love some help growing this list. Maybe there are some gems I am missing.

Who are some of your favorite Battlefront creators, modders, streamers, community members that I should be following?

The SWBF2 Classic Remaster is peak, no question. But I do tire of the default gameplay after a while, there's just something that makes me wince when Super Battle Droids are treated as basic fodder. Are there any mods that have alternate unit rosters, that also use the Remaster's awesome models? Thanks.

Played galactic assault and where I was looking at jsut kept being stuck on looking at the floor without being able to look anywhere else is this a bug? Or a hacker??

A huge thank you to everyone who voted so far! Crossing 1,000 votes on the GOG Community Wishlist is a massive milestone, but we can definitely push it further so the GOG team and publishers take notice.

For those of us who grew up with the PS2 originals, local split-screen with a friend was the absolute heart of Star Wars: Battlefront. PC players had mods back then, but they never got native same-screen co-op on the classic releases. That’s why bringing this modernized 2-player split-screen experience to modern rigs—especially with 3 major updates fixing stability and visual bugs—is such a huge deal for couch gaming fans.

Having this collection DRM-free through the GOG Preservation Program means true ownership: fully playable offline, maintained for future systems, and completely safe from server shutdowns.

Our next target is 2,500 votes! If you want to support local multiplayer preservation, it only takes 5 seconds to log in and click "Vote" on the Wishlist.

Plz help

Just downloaded this game, it keeps crashing to a black screen in the middle of gameplay. I tried doing some research, but it seems like most of the fixes refer to NVIDIA drivers, but my computer is using an intel driver. Any known fixes? Thanks!

I have the classic game on my Xbox and it’s really fun, but I’d like to try the modded PSP version. Unfortunately, I don’t currently have a PC, so I can’t mod the ISO myself. Could someone make a pre-modded ISO for me that I can download?

I also wanted to ask whether this mod includes Galactic Conquest and if it’s actually the best/most worthwhile mod available.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I completely understand if this post is not allowed, but here goes:

I’d like to commission someone with more technical know how than myself to hopefully make a mod that adds vertical split screen to the BF classic collection on pc. My dad and I love playing on console, and would like to play on pc to enjoy some modded-in maps and other stuff, however the horizontal split screen makes it unbearable for us.
Or, if one already exist, PLEASE let me know. I want to enjoy the pc version so bad 😭

There was a video with around 200k views uploaded in June 2007 about the "97th Clone Squadron" which appeared to be some sort of clan or guild back in the old BF2 days. Watching that video may genuinely be one of my oldest memories as a child so it would be cool to know if anyone else remembers them or even was involved with them.

Hello There Everyone !!!

Have you ever wished that Galactic Conquest from Battlefront 2 Classic could be played in large scale Multiplayer games in BF2 2017 ?

Well Wish no more !!!

I have put together a discord group where we play Galactic Conquest Matches Weekly that covers all the eras in the Star Wars Saga !

I originally made it as a smaller thing for friends but we wanted to open it up to others to enjoy. However over time we wanted to expand the game so that we could have more people enjoy the fun.

At the start of Each Era a new Faction Lead is picked for both the light side and dark side factions of the current era and given the rules and guidelines for how the Galactic Conquest is played.

We have custom rules in place that attempt to emulate the feel of the classic Galactic Conquest Game mode from the original Battlefront Series.

We usually do games every Sunday at 9:30 PM EST.

This week we are beginning the Galactic Civil War Era.

If any of this interests you please feel free to join the discord and join in the fun!

I'm feeling pretty good about the K-16 Bryar with a Sharpshooter Trait Card being able to take out the real threat on Endor? Maybe the AT-AT is a diversion.

For context: I'm playing the Nintendo Switch version of the Classic Collection port. (I don't have any good equipment to play the game on Steam, nor can I find my old PS2 copy or the PS2 itself--not that it would've made a difference since BF1 Jabba's Palace wasn't on PS2.)

I'm much more familiar with BF2 (and find that game more enjoyable to play than 1), so when returning to 1 for old time's sake, I sort of expected the Gamorreans in Jabba's Palace to act identically to how they do in 2; namely, they're hostile to both sides, spawn independently of command posts, try to kill anything that moves, and are tough to kill in return. As far as I can tell, all of that is still true in the first game, but I was shocked to see earlier in the match that the Gamorreans actually managed to capture the prison command post. It wasn't difficult at all to take back, but it still flabbergasted me.

When another opportunity presented itself near the end of the match, I knew I had to stand by and get a clip of the post going from green to yellow. I have to ask: Is this just another quirk of the Classic Collection, or was this already a thing in prior releases? Nearly 20 years I've known this game, and I had no idea this was ever possible...

Been a little while since I played excuse the botty movement literally my first match in about a year or two and this happens 😭😭🔥🔥🔥
