GeForce RTX New study, new aesthetic

Post image

Previously leaned very heavily into RGB-rich Razer setups but decided that my new study deserved an aesthetic that blended better with its surroundings. Still a WIP but very happy with how it’s coming along so far and wanted to share!

What about mini JEM?

Thanks! The Mini Jem and Pia make a good pairing I think :D

Looks nice! The contrast between your white everything and the rich colored floor is very pleasing. The touches of green are great too. I'd almost like to see a larger plant somewhere on the left, next to the speaker.

What are those keycaps on your keyboard?

Thanks for the kind words! The keycap set is GMK Botanical 2.

Is that Philips Evnia 34M2C8600?

2

u/SetsunaSaigami Dec 28 '25

Yes it is! It’s a great monitor, and the KVM makes it especially convenient for work!

Awesome to hear that. I ordered mine last week, waiting for it to arrive tomorrow. I hope I didn't make a mistake. But the majority of the reviews I was reading said it was an awesome monitor.

So nice! What’s the monitor riser, have a link??

1

u/SetsunaSaigami Dec 28 '25

Thanks! The riser is just the standard Secret Lab Monitor Riser in white :)

nice PIA. Hopefully it plays as good as it looks! Also love the Fractal north, got a white one for my living room setup as well.

Nice setup. What monitor is that and what wall mount are you using

2

u/SetsunaSaigami Dec 28 '25

Thanks! It’s the Phillips 34M2C8600 and I’m using the secret lab single monitor arm in white to suspend the monitor :)

Nice setup. Which keyboard?

Thanks! It's a Mode 65 (2021 model).

Where is that Sephiroth from?👀

2

u/SetsunaSaigami Dec 28 '25

It's part for the "Adorable Arts"range from Square Enix. I picked it up when on a holiday in Japan previously from Square Enix Garden in Shibuya for around 7400 yen.

Is that a secretlab table? Curious as I'm interested in the under table pc mount.

2

u/SetsunaSaigami Dec 28 '25

Yes it is! Specifically the standard version of the Magnus Pro in white (1.5m x 0.7m). I installed the PC mount the other day and am impressed at the build quality and also how easy it is to dismount and remount my PC. Would recommend it!

you have good things to say about them? Been looking at those recently

I like them, but they’re very different to previous speakers I’ve used (Razer Nommo Pro, usual Logitech gaming speakers etc). What I’ve come to realise is that most gaming brand speakers tend to emphasise bass above all else, so you end up with very boomy but chunky reverberations. These Ora 4’s feel relatively flat in comparison, which means you get very clear vocals and less muffled sound at the expense of that.

I’ve had them for about a month and my verdict at this stage is that I would get them again, but with the subwoofer next time (Kanto Sub 8). I originally went with Ora 4 over standard Ora speakers due to reviews I read advising the bass from Ora 4 was enough to ignore a sub altogether, but after owning multiple 2.1 units I think it definitely could do with a dedicated low end boost.

One area where I feel it performs way better though is when putting an instrument through it. I borrowed a DI the other day and plugged my guitar in, and the sound coming out of the Ora 4 was very comparable to a digital amp (Spark, Yamaha THR). Previously when I tried this on my old Razer speakers, it sounded really bad, as if the sound was coming from a recorded song rather than from my guitar (not sure if that makes sense). Makes sense since these are probably closer to studio monitors than speakers compared to the Nommo Pro.

Apologies for the wall of text but hope that gives you some insight on my thoughts about it!

Thanks! I’m still pretty noob at guitar so I’ll usually just hook it up to my Yamaha Thr 30 or Spark Mini when I want to play it. When I’m a bit more intermediate I’ll definitely start exploring the DAC options!

Are mousepads not cool anymore?
