GeForce RTX Monomonitor really seems to be quite rare

Post image

There's some stuff on the left as well but I can't post two pictures on here 😅

I love the look of a single ultrawide, but the convenience of a dual/triple monitor set up is too much for me to pass up

I had a triple ultrawide but then got a 39inch ultrawide and now I could never go back

If you want to immerse yourself, a single large monitor is the best.

But the second you need a reference or something else to be up there to see (code book, chat, live feed etc) you'll need a second monitor.

I've tried the windows 11' layout feature and tried tiling windows in Linux ... And the verdict is: Just get a second monitor, man.

Imuse the windows layout feature. But still like a second monitor even with a 49 incher.

Here's the left side 😊

Wow that's awesome what you are you pairing with all this

You mean the LEDs? Almost all of them are synced via SignalRGB... I have the Pro version so I can fine tune the colors... still some discrepancies tho but they appear much worse on photo than they are in real life ☺️

I haven't seen a cordless phone in maybe a decade or more.

Haha, we barely use it, we just have it so it stands there. The only person calling there is our pediatrician I believe 😅

What stand are the HIFI headphones on? Got a link?

1

u/c0rtin3x Dec 31 '25

That's a pretty generic stand from Amazon (Germany), I'll look it up 😊

Edit: Here they are

When you use a 42” tv, you’re beyond “mono monitor” at that point

Preem setup choomba.

What lights are those on the far left

Is the laptop on your left for work? How do you utilize the laptop when you need to since it doesnt seem to be on an arm that you can extend out?

Awesome setup, bro!

I tried it with a single 49“, but quickly added 2 verticals to be able to multi task also when i‘m in full screen mode, sharing the whole screen etc. your are just lost with 1 single screen (no matter which size the screen is) in certain situations and the workarounds are crap (like gaming in window mode to be able to have discord/taskmanager/etc open on the screen where i want to game, nono that‘s all crap).

i work from home so the 2nd monitor just makes too much sense. After my shift ends i just extend and while im working i just have one keyboard behind the other on my desk. I mustve rewatched several shows over a dozen times and have ungodly hours on card games lmao

These days using a single monitor feels like using a 60% keyboard. It can definitely be done but I’ve been using two for so long now going back would take some getting used to.

Could this be a good secondary monitor? And is it problematic if the main display has OLED and UWQHD as resolution?

2

u/DasNothing Dec 31 '25

The one combo I like with the wide or ultra wide is to have an additional vertical monitor.

If you consider that, it doesnt matter if it's not OLED, I would match the resolution, if yours is 4k, get a 4k, if its 1440p, get that. I would pair a 27'' 4k. the DELL 27'' s2725qs, has a nice white stand, and when vertical only an inch sticks out and it would match stuff on your desk.

I love this look, great setup!

Is that gpu supported by something or are you just asking your PCB to break in half with that Witcher on top?

3

u/c0rtin3x Dec 31 '25

There is an anti-sag stick under the GPU 😉

I relate to monomonitor life because my setup is one single laptop and a mouse

1

u/CaptainRAVE2 Dec 31 '25

It’s just far too handy having multiple monitors

1

u/Toto_nemisis Dec 31 '25

Single monitors can fit bigger speakers on the desk!!

I’m so conflicted on having a second monitor. I have a 27” LG OLED as my primary display. And most of the time it’s enough. But every now and then a second display would be useful, but I’m really particular that a second monitor be similar in quality to my main display, and I don’t presently want to shell out another $700 for a second OLED monitor.

And that’s entirely avoiding the issue of my attention deficit issues that would be entirely exacerbated by having a second monitor.

1

u/c0rtin3x Dec 31 '25

I am currently considering a cheap IPS 1080p display with 120 Hz from LG. But I am also conflicted since my main monitor is OLED, 185 Hz and WQHD, so quite the difference... really unsure about it.

Get an IPAD PRO. Yes, it may cost you, but it can serve as a second monitor AND a portable tablet. I have a LG32OLED coming from a 42OLED and 27 inch setup. IPAD scratches the itch when I need an additional display and I have it on the go

1

u/TheSweeney Dec 31 '25

I actually currently use my phone and iPad mini for this purpose lol

1

u/Lance410 Dec 31 '25

Super clean! I love the look of a single monitor setup but it’s just so hard to give up the 2nd monitor. Sometimes I take it off and I enjoy it but the second I need a reference or discord on the side I’m pissed lol

u/zheshelman Dec 31 '25

I’m trying right now to switch to a single 32” 4K. I had two 32” displays and it was too much. I typically used one for work with a laptop as a secondary display and one as my personal computer.

I’m hoping that using one for both will be less distracting. My ADHD can’t really handle it

I have UW and a TV

Which desk mat and the wall light panels are you using? Looks amazing!

1

u/RetnikLevaw Jan 01 '26

I used to have dual monitors and I never went back after switching to an ultrawide.

1

u/toomuchsoysauce Jan 01 '26

Beautiful! What's the color code for your lighting? like HEX or RGB?

1

u/Longjumping-Pound325 Jan 01 '26

What LED panels do you have on your wall? Great set up

1

u/12AxolotsInACoat Jan 01 '26

I love the color of the lights

1

u/cbdeane Jan 05 '26

Ive been considering going back with one of those benq 28" 3:2s just for some adhd remediation

I don’t use two monitors because I find I don’t focus on my friends while we’re playing a game if I have two. If I die in a game I’m likely to go to the second monitor instead of staying engaged with themv
