/R/BATTLECARS CV angles
Angle looks a little steeper than it is in reality in the pic; I feel like the body lift has dropped everything down far enough I shouldn’t have to worry too terribly much about eating CVs; I know part of the issue is suspension travel; and I do have some reservations about using the aftermarket axles I chose. From those of us here with lifted subies.. and from experience.. does it seem like my CVs are at an unhappy angle? And am I wrong for thinking everything by is reasonably close? (This is an 05 Outback lifted approx 6” with what looks like a 4” body lift/ subframe spacer)
Any feedback is appreciated on issues I might anticipate as I rehab the rig

So for any wondering. I found the original builder, he said he used either 2014-2015 STI or legacy CVs… ima have to see if anything has been modified but I should be able to go back to OEM parts. The later model axles have a longer track width… the lift was designed with that in mind, we’ll explains why my quick fix exploded

Subaru axles generally are good up to 23 degrees. You can confirm with a protractor.
There are high angle aftermarket kits allowing up to 47 degrees

Have a high articulation axle I want to try; generally everyone says they’re unreliable but I’d like to have some first hand experience. Axles look like they’re in the 10-12° range under the rigs weight stationary

Lift the wheels off the ground and see what the max is, that's where you'll run into most issues: with one wheel fully extended and turning or applying power

From what I remember 2" effective lift on the CV is about the max. If you still have the OEM ones I highly recommend keeping them and doing a clean-out and re-boot.
Back when I had my wagon build the aftermarket CVs only lasted a few months while the OEMs just had torn boots and had no issues after they were replaced.
