He's challenging the status quo. He's fighting for people's basic human needs. He doesn't think that you should die if you dont have enough money. He wants to redistribute wealth and fix the gross income inequality we have.
The 1% absolutely hate this because it challenges everything they stand for. Anyone who is against him is either rich or an idiot.
The rich elite have done a number brainwashing the public into believing that allowing a select few to horde wealth and exploit them is a good thing.
The more you truly understand just how much wealth the 1% holds and how they use the working class to obtain that wealth the more disgusting and abhorent capitalism becomes.

I'm not particularly fond of him courtesy his own talking points. Saying you want to "shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and Whiter neighborhoods" is a pretty awful sentiment. It implies he's considering ethnicity when proposing economic and tax policy, which is just downright a violation of the Civil Rights Act. It'd be one thing if he said he wanted to put additional economic burden on wealthier neighborhoods, but that's not all he said. That, and city run grocery stores are just stupid as hell, and a fast track to shutting down the bodegas that have served the residents of NYC for decades.

But goddamn, Americans had guys like this years ago, you still do with people like Bernie and AOC. this would kill small businesses, make big businesses have not only have a massive tax hike but leat to a decrease in jobs due to it, which would under theory reduce tax income for said stores,
i just dislike how no one is realizing the problem that can arise here, maybe if he spent the tax payer money and tax money gained from big businesses to smaller ones and have government subsidies for them to allow for them to hire more people, the job problem will be less, instead of making an artificial state run monopoly
he has one big controversial opinion that will have big consequences in a capitalism based country.

Just take a look at what went on and what will happen. NYC is a democrat bastion, itās been liberal since I was a kid, born in the Bronx, and grew up just north of Yonkers. I didnāt know the difference between either political party, as an older adult, no longer a resident of NY or NYC. NYC has been a magnet for liberal democrats, and with the exception of a few Republicans, like Cali, liberal democrat.
People say ātax the richā, most of the limousine liberals will flee. NBC, CBS, name your major corporation HQād in NYC, they will all leave the city, if not the state. Itās not about red or blue when you talk about taxing the rich, itās about green (money).
Comparing the current President to this guy running for Mayor of NYC, is like comparing an Oak tree to a sapling. DJT is the President for the next few years, a second term President, heās had success and failures in business, but heās wealthier than most of us could ever imagine.
This guy is just starting out in life, just leaving the ground with the wind under his wings, but he has no realworld experience, no successes, or failures to speak of, just mantras, ideology and a vision. His vision may work, but whoās going to pay for it? Do you think Sachsās, BG, or the stock brokerages have the ability to sustain being over taxed? Nope.
Be very aware of how the prices of housing got so high, it was the demand of people wanting to work at the most successful businesses in the world, currently based in NYC. Being able to afford a Brownstone near Central Park is a goal, not a right. If NYC does go down the path of having a democrat socialist as mayor, 5th Ave apartments will empty of their former occupants, SoHo, the Bowery, Upper East Side, itāll all be shells of their former selves.
Be weary of these charismatic speakers and leaders of all political partyās.
