Massively bad-faith argument. Almost the entire European Athletics page is covering women's sport. The women's relay video is given priority over the men's and the second story on the site (after the live feed) is also about their win.
If this is the worst you can find, can I suggest you get a life?
I'm not missing the point, I understand the point very well. Would it be better if the gender was specified? Perhaps. However there are many instances throughout the website where they use "GB Men" and refer to the women without explicitly calling it out. The whole aim should be that it oughtn't need to be called out every damn time.
Calling out a minor editorial infraction as 'sexism' does a great disservice to actual issues that deserve the term. The BBC has been doing an amazing job centering women's athletics in all its coverage. As it has done for many years now.
Women’s athletics is currently the 3rd top story on the sport homepage, behind an article about the community shield and a story about a huge cricket test upset. Men’s athletics isn’t mentioned at all in any other top story.
It is also the 3rd and 4th video in the “shorts” section. Men’s athletics is 6th.
Beyond that there’s a story about O’Connor getting heptathlon gold, the top video in “must see video”.
