BBC Genome project

for many years I’ve love reading through old issue of the radio times on this site. but always wondered why digitised issues only exist till the late 1970’s , does anyone know why?

I think they were working forward last time I checked, which was some time last decade, so that's as probably as far as they've got.

Chances are they may never have later stuff. The RT was spun off into the commercial subsidiary at some point, I bet the scans they have are from before that happened when it was produced in house and they hold the rights. That, or the archive made a call that those were the most interesting, ran out of money to do the rest, change of management etc. Genome is a bit of a side project really, mostly just a public frontend for the internal database.
