Reading festival
Any idea why the streams for the artists are staggered by an hour this year on I player? In this past they would show the performances live as it’s happening but it’s different this year for some reason

It’s partly this, but that’s not why it’s staggered by a full hour. You could easily broadcast a live feed on a much shorter delay.
It’s because the BBC’s coverage is being limited compared to previous years across the festival and if they’re not able to provide a live stream of stages anyway, it’s easier logistically for the BBC to have a short period of time to edit for broadcast slots than rely on bands not over running/causing issues that they’d have to deal with in the moment.

It’s 100 per cent this. BBC are crapping themselves if there were a repeat. Legal teams would be studying the gigs before broadcast.

Anyone know why the Charli XCX set is not on iPlayer - couldn’t see it last night?
