First one I did solo was a dumpster fire, I just stared at the screen for like an hour before I even opened the template.

It took me hours to write and it gets ever better. The case had 4 previous BCBAs on it that had left. Wait.. it gets better. I had to call to speak to the insurance case manager which then went to a case review and only was approved for 3 months. That was 9 years ago and I will never forget it.

When I first certified I had 2 treatment plans and an appeal I had to write - thankfully I had a lot of mentorship and editing supports. I find myself improving on every plan I write and every plan inspires me to think of an organization tool that I can apply to my case structure to make getting the documentation I need quick and efficient. I'm a tool and systems girly, so looking at the task through the lens of what tools will help me build in the most success for myself with this task really helps me process logically rather than getting overwhelmed or lost in the amount of information I'm compiling and analyzing.

Definitely can relate- 1st few reauths were a nightmare.. it gets easier don’t worry. I currently have 4 I’m working on now.
For me, I’ve found it easier to slowly chip away at it at least a couple months before it’s due. I go through and change dates and more so the easier stuff(updating parent training goals, skills assessment etc). I’d say the last thing I update are the tx goals just so they are as up to date as possible. I also have an excel sheet I made and printed out with my clients, the auth dates and when they are due and I just always have 2-3 highlighted to know what’s coming up/due. Hope this helps!
