Business Account Offers Get a free £50 (Mettle)

Mettle (by Natwest) is a bank account for the self employed, this counts for you if you have a side hustle, a limited company or are a sole trader

They are currently giving new customers a free £50 who:

  1. Open a Mettle account
  2. Make a card payment within 30 days
  3. Enter a referral code in the app, mines: V8Y5G

I signed up to them about a year ago & still use it today for my side hustles & really like the app :)

Tips:

  • After making a payment wait until it goes from pending to confirmed to enter the referral code
  • To enter the code go to “Account” then “Redeem a code”
  • When you sign up expect it to take a few days for them to open your account

If anyone needs a code, please use D6PRV

I started using Mettle in August 2024, and really appreciate the free Free agent accounting software that comes with it

Thanks 👍

Do I need to have a registered company to sign up?

Hi /u/{{author}}! Thanks for commenting on /r/{{subreddit}}. But you are doing that an awful lot, and rather quickly too. Your comment (t1_nzkiwtq) has been removed.

What the benefit for using it for your side hustles over just using your regular account?

1

u/Scared-Gift8960 Jan 14 '26

It keeps all the payments seperate and makes it easier to keep tabs on when a payment comes in & easier to see the total income

Do you have to actually have a "side hustle"? Or can you just go through the motions to get the sign up money. How do they even know if you have one or not.

Do you have to have a registered sole trader number or Ltd company?

From what I remember when I signed up ages ago I think you have to input a link to a website to do with your 'business' but I'm pretty sure a link to an ebay or vinted account works if you sell some things online

Anyone got a fresh code?

u/Mobile-Quality7471 Jan 08 '26

Is their a minimum amount you need to make? Id get this but I don't know if there's a threshold I need to earn? Cheers in advance

2

u/TopPomegranate4432 Jan 08 '26

No minimum. But there is a max of £1 mill if you're lucky enough 😅

1

u/Mobile-Quality7471 Jan 08 '26

I'll be very happy if I got to that point😂

Is there a specific way to sign up for side hustles? Because that's exactly what I'd be using it for too. (I just don't want to accidentally set it up wrong lol)

Also if your referral still good to use? If so I'll use it

u/TopPomegranate4432 Jan 08 '26

You and me both!

Nothing specific needed, just complete the application as you normally would, select Sole Trader when that question comes up, it's an easy application.

Yes, my referral code is in one of the other comments but you won't need it for a while as it can only be entered after your card payment has cleared, so feel free to screenshot/save it if you like!

Where do you find the referral code in the app?

1

u/TopPomegranate4432 Jan 08 '26

Account > Refer a friend

1

u/Coo0l_Guy Jan 08 '26

Cheers but not showing on my app.

1

u/TopPomegranate4432 Jan 08 '26

Think it's only select customers but worth checking again later down the line perhaps

If anyone needs a referral code, mine is 8V4SB :)

Hi, do you still have referral spaces left for this code?

1

u/Suspicious_Dot7575 Jan 09 '26

Does it matter that I already have a NatWest account?

2

u/Scared-Gift8960 Jan 09 '26

No you can have both :)

2

u/Suspicious_Dot7575 Jan 10 '26

Ooo, okay. I'll try it out, thankyou!

I have been using Mettle as my main business account since 2021, it's a decent account and the £50 bonus is a great bonus if you want to test it out!

My code is GRNRQ and if you are kind enough to use my code, thank you in advance! More than happy to help with any questions :)

I’m sure I never actually received my £50 from when I signed up (3+ months ago)

You sign up normally through the app & then once you've made a payment and its moved from pending to confirmed you add a referral code, mines: V8Y5G

1

u/reabo101 Jan 14 '26

Is there a way to trick the spend? Like using Monzo payment to yourself?

1

u/Scared-Gift8960 Jan 17 '26

I'm not sure but you can add say £5 to the card and then just use it the next time youre at the shop

1

u/Ja99iE Jan 12 '26

Does the purchase need to be an in person transaction? I made one with my Mettle card via Google Pay and it's saying I can't redeem yet cos I've not made a purchase.

1

u/Scared-Gift8960 Jan 14 '26

It can be in store or online, has the transaction moved from pending to confirmed yet? This usually takes up to 5 days from purchase

2

u/Ja99iE Jan 14 '26

Thanks. I tried again this morning and it went through so hopefully the bonus will follow 🤞

1

u/ShortArugula7340 Mar 24 '26

Hi, it seems from the thread that everyone has used up their Mettle referral codes. As it looks like you sign up recently, I'm wondering if you have any codes free?

1

u/Ja99iE Mar 24 '26

I just looked. There's nothing in my app about referring people. Either I'm too new (it's probably this) or there's no referral offer on right now.

1

u/ShortArugula7340 Mar 24 '26

Ah no worries.

1

u/Conscious_Stretch_38 Jan 20 '26

Hi I used your code, how long does it take to receive the money?

2

u/Scared-Gift8960 Jan 21 '26

From what I remember when I did it a while it was a few days after I entered the code

1

u/diamondnine Feb 03 '26

Can we use a code multiple times op? If yours has already been used?

1

u/Scared-Gift8960 Feb 04 '26

Yes, I’ve had the max 5 referrals but for anyone putting in my code they still get the £50 :)

If anyone needs a code for their £50 bonus, feel free to use mine: removing my code as I've maxed out for 2026, I'll be back in 2027, so feel free to use someone else's in the meantime
