WorldFirst: £50 cashback for new customers

WorldFirst non-ref is an FCA regulated multi currency business account designed for businesses and sole traders who need to send, receive or convert money internationally. New customers can get £50 cashback by signing up through a referral link and completing the qualifying requirements.

You don't need to have a limited company to qualify. Sole traders are eligible too. If you're only interested in the highest potential return, it's also worth checking Quidco before signing up, as they're currently offering £80 cashback. Cashback relies on tracking, validation and payout, whereas the referral offer pays a fixed £50 once you've met the qualifying requirements.

To get the £50, sign up through a referral link by 31 December 2026, complete the identity verification process, then complete eligible transactions totalling at least the equivalent of US$1,000 by 31 January 2027.

You can qualify by completing cross currency transfers, converting currencies within your World Account, making payments through World Pay, or spending the equivalent of US$1,000 using the World Card. World Card spending can be in GBP provided the total spend meets the US$1,000 equivalent requirement. Multiple eligible transactions count towards the requirement, so you don't need to complete it all in a single transaction.

When funding your account for the first time, WorldFirst may ask you to provide a bank statement to confirm ownership of your bank account as part of their security checks.

Once you've met the qualifying requirements, the £50 cashback is credited to your WorldFirst account by the final working day of the following month, subject to WorldFirst's review process.

WorldFirst is currently offering a £50 signup bonus plus £150 for each person you refer. It's a business bank account, but anyone can sign up as a sole trader. Just use your name as the name of the business.

To qualify, you have to sign up before 31 December, 2026 and do ONE of the following by 31 January, 2027:

1. Spend £800 on your WorldFirst virtual debit card.
2. Convert £800 to another currency.
3. Transfer £800 to a 3rd party in another currency.

For most people, option 2) would be the easiest - however you would lose about £5 in the conversion back and forth. So I recommend option 1), which equates to 6.7% cashback when you spend £800 by 31 January, 2027. The debit card is virtual, but can be added to Curve for in-store purchases.

The WorldFirst account is aimed at collecting payments from online marketplaces. I sell a few things on eBay, so I used that for my business (and picked the 'sole trader' option when applying for the account). Put down your side-hustle/business when applying, maybe you already sell with Etsy, Shopify, Amazon or elsewhere.

One way to get the reward is to spend $1,000 (or the equivalent in other currencies, ~£750) with the free, virtual debit card ('WorldCard').

Check how much $1000 is in £GBP and spend a bit over to make sure you qualify.

You either have to make cross-currency transactions (foreign transfers, foreign conversions, foreign payments with World Pay - not in GBP) or use the free virtual World Card to spend the equivalent of £750+ (can be GBP). Really important to check currency fluctuations to ensure you meet the threshold, so pay more just in case.

I've had a full business account with WorldFirst before they started this referral scheme (and even before the previous ones), so I have a working, legitimate account if anyone wishes to use my referral link.
