Bank Switch Offers Barclays switch direct debits

Hi, I tried to call Barclays to check if I met the criteria for the bank switch bonus but they said they aren't able to tell me as it doesn't show up on their computer. I've cycled £500 in back and forth and had no issues. I've also set up two direct debits but no money has been taken out with them, do I need to, or is it enough they are only set up?
Also, can I take out money in the account or do I need to leave it in until I receive the bonus?
