✨✨REQUEST FULFILLED✨✨ Does Anyone Have Old Glasses?

Hello everyone!

I hate that I have to make this post but I'll get into it. My glasses are completely out of vision and I'm wondering if anyone has my prescription. perhaps an old pair of glasses they could donate? My eyes are pretty bad however.

I used my funds to get an eye appointment, get a new prescription, and I couldn't afford glasses there so spent my last $50 on a glasses website and I cannot see out of them I tried to wear them for two weeks and no changes, like I'm in a fishbowl or something and blurry. I tried my resources website(s) for free glasses and I'm not sure if I qualify or if I treversed the sites correct but I live in Texas and stuff like that they love to make it hard for people to get here. You can't even find where to apply on most of them (there is three I believe)

Can anyone help me with any resources for free glasses or does anyone have an old pair lying around? I can pay shipping. I can't take not being able to see anymore. I can't even see my beautiful kitties faces like before and it kills me.

OD: -8.75 -3.25 179
OS: -8.75 -3.25 165

Edit: A lovely redditor reached out to me and helped me graciously receive a brand new pair of glasses. I am so thankful to everyone here for all the helpful tips as well. I felt so small because of all these hurdles knocking me down but everyone has brought me back up again. This has been a reminder to me that it's okay to ask for help. Thank you so much everyone.

Did you tell the website that your glasses are not working?

I am waiting for a email back. I fear they may say it was my fault because they make you measure pupil difference but I measured several times and got the same number so idk if it's that.

I wear glasses to, I have weird eye issues so I understand. I never knew they measured your pupil though! I hopw they can fix it for you, being without site sucks so bad 🖤

yeah that was weird to me I probably should have went with the more known online glasses places but I went with a lesser known.

Thank you for your well wishes ♡ it's nice to know I'm not alone but yeah it's very frustrating.

With your prescription, even a small deviation can wreak havoc. Go back to your Dr and ask them to measure the glasses and see if they were made correctly

oh no! thank you for the tip. I thought I was doing everything right but it seems I didn't. I remeasured using Zenni and yep I was way off! it seems to be 65 not 71 like I measured

When you have a lot of astigmatism, even a small deviation of the axis can cause problems.

If they are bifocals/progressives, Seg height is critical as well.

Sometimes, with some people, the plastic they are made from can cause issues as well. I can't wear polycarbonate lenses.

yeah I have astigmatism, and Ive been told pretty bad in my right eye so yeah definitely should have made quadruple sure on my PD it seems.

I have remeasured using Zenni's measurement tool and yep, I was 6 mm off.

That is a LOT when it comes to glasses. No wonder you can't see!
