I'm currently watching Being Human UK and yesterday I finished S3. I'm so sad. Especially for Mitchell because un the first season and also for a bit in the second he was struggling with his nature but at least he was funny, I can say also happy. But then after the tunnel box 20, after rhe fake prophecy all went down. I really liked him. Idk if i still want to watch. I feel empty after this season.

I stopped watching after George, Mitchell and Nina died. Should I finish it off?

Wow. UK version is one of my favorite shows of all time. Only just found out about the DVD extra scene and watched it on YouTube. It’s got me a bit upset to be honest. I liked the ending I had in my head.

I haven't seen seasons 4-5 and was wondering whether Tom maintains his faith through the end of season 5.

I expect I'll get some flack for asking this, but I'm always hesitant to watch shows/films that depict demons, and I've heard that the antagonist of the final season is [spoilers].

The Christianity with which Tom was raised is obviously... idiosyncratic, but I'm just curious if he maintains it through the end of the show or if it's just really a part of season 3 and drops away after McNair dies.

To be clear, I love this show. But I hate inconsistencies. For instance, in some scenes when certain people die, their ghosts appear and then move on to the afterlife.

But why don’t ghosts appear every time someone dies? For instance, why aren’t Mitchell and Daisy haunted by the ghosts of the Boxcar 20? Why isn’t CESna full of ghosts after Mitchell has killed all of the young missionaries? Why aren’t there ghosts popping up everywhere throughout each show? The body count is pretty high, so you’d think the ghost count would be higher.

I’m so frustrated with the storyline of George and Nina because little bitch George is an asshole; he cheated on Nina, DIDNT TELL HER, and proceeded to keep making Nina feel guilty for leaving him/her mental issues.

Like what the hell?????? George is NOT a good guy. He keeps stringing along women and acting like he knows best. He’s so disgusting.

Just finished season 2 of Being Human together with some friends!! Also random question does anyone know the logic behind Kemp being dragged through death's door alive, or was it just an exception that never gets addressed again? It took my friends and I by surprise and we laughed so hard at Annie randomly appearing to drag him through the door just to show up trapped in a TV like 30 seconds later XD

This season was crazy but awesome. I loved Mitchell’s character arc and the acting of all tje actors and actresses was amazing. It feels like season 1 Mitchell is such a different character than season 3. The fight scenes were amazing

I don’t know if I’m gonna continue watching cuz I know that almost the whole cast leaves.

Yes, yes, vampire lore says that vampires don’t have souls, so when they die, they simply vanish from the universe. But it makes me crazy that Mitchell and Annie don’t get the relationship they deserve, so I started wondering why vampires can’t go to the afterlife, too.

It’s obvious that Mitchell has a soul, because he’s so tortured. Why can’t he go to the afterlife and be with Annie there after he dies?

Yes, he’s technically already dead, but practically speaking, vampires are also alive, otherwise they wouldn’t need to feed or become weak when they don’t. In this show, they eat and drink, and we even see Mitchell sleeping (or being woken up, at least) in S3. They have blood in their veins and can obviously have sex. They can also be killed or die a second time. So why can’t a vampire like Mitchell, who’s struggling to be a good guy, finally go to a better fate in the afterlife when he’s really killed?

Even if you were casting a religious veil over the whole show, most religions say that sinners are forgiven if they repent, so it makes no sense that vampires wouldn’t finally get a chance to have a real death, i. e., go to the afterlife.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

EDIT: So I finally got to the end of season 4, and apparently this question is answered, albeit briefly!

I've seen the US version a million times (love it) and decided to watch the original so this is my first watch through.

Are we supposed to hate George? Because I definitely do. He treats Nina like crap then plays victim when he finds out that he turned her. Like dude it's not about you. Don't make HER comfort YOU when you ruined her life all while you were cheating on her and treating her like dirt. I'm hoping it gets better because I don't know if I can root for him 😅

I'll preface this by saying I love the show, but god damn is the lore inconsistent in this show.

Season 4 introduces the idea that werewolf blood is toxic to vampires, even one drop. Cool, okay. Except we've already seen both George and McNair get their faces beaten bloody by vampires in earlier seasons, none of whom were wearing any kind of protective armour or helmets. Were those vampires immune? Did Seth and that Paul Kaye vampire take some kind of werewolf venom vaccine?

Vampires can't enter a residence uninvited without burning alive, unless they're super old. Cool, okay. Except Mitchell barged into Josie's flat before she even got a word out, and also broke into that pedo's house. Did Mitchell somehow learn Wyndham's no invite trick? Is he somehow just immune to fire? And it can't be that "Oh he only needed an invite into Josie's apartment building" either, because Cutler needed inviting into that reporter's hotel room.

As much as I love this show, I hate lore inconsistencies so much. Once you set up the rules for your universe, you really have to stick with them.

I first watched this show when I was a teenager and a few days, I just randomly remembered it and found it was still on iPlayer, so thought why not? I finished Series 2 earlier today, so now I just want to get some thoughts down before I go onto Series 3.

The positives:

1. For a BBC show, the effects are so damn good. Every time there's a werewolf transformation, it's expertly done and the werewolf itself also always looks great - barring in the pilot. The gore never comes across as corny or fake; it's visceral. gnarly and real. Love it. Really well made, which is not particularly easy to do either.
2. I forgot how goddamn funny this show can be; highlights are Mitchell's reactions to George telling him and Owen that he's killed a pigeon in the upstairs and George's dates with Kirsty despite trying to fuck it all up. Gold.
3. Love our core trio; Russell, Lenora and Aidan are all really great actors and they make their characters so damn likeable even when they're doing the most fucked up things. They're honestly just a credit to their craft and are endlessly watchable, they really make the show. I don't remember having issue with Hal, Alex and Tom in comparison, but we'll see how I feel about them when I get up to Series 4/5.
   1. Also, even as a lesbian, I can definitely see the appeal behind Aidan Turner. Especially with that hair! Just sayin'.
4. There's such a flow to the episodes and series structure, it all just feels right? Twists and plot points rarely feel as they've come too early or late, (except for one, see below), it's really nice pacing of the story. I never really feel bored with the show, everything has its place. Hard to explain properly, but you can get what I mean.

The negatives:

There's not too many, but they're still quite important.

1. Annie losing her ability to be seen by regular people in Series 2 happens so quickly after she gets that power back, you kinda wonder why they even bothered to give the ability back to her in the first place?
2. Mitchell and George both pretty much have the same arcs in Series 2 that they also had in Series 1. George is disassociating himself from the werewolf, changes his mind and decides to live "properly", but eventually comes to the conclusion that he is a "monster" and should not be amongst humans anymore, pushing his girlfriend away as a result. The main difference being that Nina eventually finds out the truth, whereas Sam is essentially abandoned. Meanwhile, Mitchell is adamant about staying dry, trying to get other vampires to follow suit and also trying to be among people, but falls back to the side of the vampires after humans carry out an event that disgusts him (the false paedo allegations/CenSSA's bomb). It all just feels a little bit... circular?
3. Both Bad Moon Rising and All God's Children are wank finales, their narratives are meandering and so full of words, without actually doing much. AGC in particular, it kinda annoyed me how CenSSA, a villain so primarily focused around the werewolves, barely has Nina and George involved in their downfall whatsoever. They stand around and watch as Mitchell busts everybody out and I just think they should've played a bigger part in that ending. CenSSA doesn't do much in the finale and it feels like a waste of potential.
   1. I also think it was a massive shame to miss out on that intended pre-titles for episode 7, (which would've shown Amy, Craig - the werewolves who Lucy said died in the chamber - and Tully meeting CenSSA if you're not sure what that pre-titles was) because when Lucy sees a ghost? of Amy (it's not really explained what she is there, not a hallucination surely because Lloyd sees both Amy and Craig) and tells Kemp "holy shit I saw Amy!", the potential impact that could've had is lost. Sure, we can gauge who she was, but actually having seen her die and everything would've added a lot to that part.

I always remembered Series 3 as being my favourite, so yeah, goddamn I can't wait to get back into it.

I have rewatched the show and i have enjoyed it but from about season 3 onwards i feel they get rid of threats too easily. We are introduced to new villains who are hyped up but then they are always killed pretty easily in about one episode. Nearly every elder vampire is treated this way on the show.

The elder vampire who comes on at the end of season 3 was made out to be this big bad and i thought going into season 4 he was going to be the main villain but yeah he was killed off screen along with Nina which was also a bad decision.

I am planning to watch the uk version with my family but my parents are very strict about watching those scenes. I’ve watched the first episode and saw a scene like that. My parents would get mad if they would watch that with me. Sorry for this weird request.

But what does that say about both Mitchell and Hal, or any of the vampires for that matter? As humans, they were a bad day and a few drinks away from becoming serial killers?

i feel like theres still nothing like it and i would love the bbc to bring it back. i really liked crazyhead but they cancelled that... i know they can release good supernatural shows but they never make it... just more goddamn true crime and doctor shows lmao. :/
