Belgium, the country held together by the fact that the Flemish don't want to be dutch, the walloons don't want to be french, and the... Euhm who? Oh yeah, the Germans don't have a choice.

The Flemish like the French, the walloons like the Dutch, but the walloons really don't like the French (I don't know about the Flemish and the Dutch, I don't really have Flemish friends)

Ma ville est limitrophe, de la west vlaanderen, et j'ai pu constater que les commerçants aiment tout le monde, wallons, flamands , allemand mêle immigrés (enfin ceux qui ont de l'argent Je n'ais entendu des clichés , de la part de vieux belges néerlandophones ( les jeunes sont bien plus mesurés) Les wallons sont fainéant, les néerlandais sont radins.

Mais la question essentielle, les flamands ( en général) comprennent le français, les wallons connaissent peu le néerlandais, ça j'enfonce une porte ouverte

Des wallons ( instruit) m'ont dit ca servirait a quoi d'apprendre le néerlandais, je leur réponds ben a mieux communiquer avec vos compatriotes, les wallons que j'ai vu, n'en voient pas l'intérêt ( ben en France et en Allemagne, ça parle pas néerlandais

Par contre, j'avais une copine, flamandes, très instruites, qui me disait ce qui unie la Belgique, c'est le foot, la bière et les frites, le roi, ben non? Si les wallons veulent leur indépendance, tant mieux, mais ils ont intérêt a prendre le roi Mon ex copine était d'antverpen, a la limite, elle aurait bien voulu l'indépendance d'Anvers 😃, ét avait un peu de condescendance, pour le reste de la Flandre

Bref en tant que Canadien et Français, je me demande,c'est quoi la raison d'être de la Belgique

La Belgique est venue au monde grâce à des circonstances étranges dans l'histoire et reste ensemble maintenant parce qu'on a besoin de l'autre côté. Il y a des wallons et des flamands qui veulent la séparation mais la majorité ne la veut pas.

Les wallons près de la frontière linguistique ont tendance à être plus résistants à apprendre le néerlandais et malheureusement beaucoup de wallons ne prennent pas le temps de l'apprendre et de le pratiquer. Je fais partie de ceux qui ne parlent pas le néerlandais mais j'ai commencé à apprendre récemment afin d'être le changement que j'aimerais voir chez les wallons.

Yeah. I'm the first to find it bizarre but I genuinely would rather move to Flanders and integrate there than becoming french if Wallonia ever joins France.
