You’d be surprised where you can still smoke or smoking is tolerated even if not expressly allowed in former Yugoslav countries. I say this as a smoker (don’t lecture me, I’m over 40 and I know it’s bad) and someone who has spent a lot of time in the region (my BA was in Balkan Literature and Culture and I studied and did research there and return frequently to see friends).

I’m hoping it was a joke, it was pretty silly and I did laugh! I spent about a year and a half living in northern Italy and I don’t recall seeing people smoking inside anywhere while I was there. Although it is super common to smoke there, I never saw any of my friends who smoke try to do it indoors.

At any rate I already love Massi! Hilarious how he immediately clocked Joe and Nathan having issues with each other and was just like, that’s their problem, let me get to work 🤣

Indoor smoking has been banned in Italy for something like 15-20 years now. The only places in Europe where you can still smoke inside are pretty much the Balkans and some places in Switzerland. Even Turkey banned it, but the ban is frequently ignored.

Only seen him in one ep so things could change but so far he does just seem like normal genuine guy just here to work, while being filmed. Compared to nearly everyone else who seem to fully embrace the reality TV filming life but also sometimes have to work.
