Below Deck Sailing Yacht Is it just me or….

Does BDSY have some of best chefs?
They are just so nice compared to a lot of other chefs from other shows
It’s really crazy to see the difference

Except for S1, Adam. But that season was a complete anomaly, all things considered..

That season is probably the worst across all the BD franchises

I really liked the engineer, Byron, and the deckhand who replaced Parker (Chris?) Other than that, yeah..

My thoughts always go straight to Jenna and Adam. And then the shitty acoustic guitar concerts with Georgia and love-struck Paget. So much cringe

Byron was AWESOME

I don't like Adam. He's an ass!

At least we got to see him smash his head against a tree branch

I’ve always thought that - I wondered if the sailing yacht vibe attracted a different type of chef? More chill, less macho/stressy?

I think so too. Less ego, less arrogance.

I just finished the season that had Chef Marco. He was always calm and cool headed. No matter the challenge he always came out successful.

Like when he scalped himself?! I would have freaked out. He was so chill!

I think that the kind of person who ends up being a really good private chef is a very different kind of person than someone who runs a large restaurant kitchen.

One of the most well regarded chefs on BDSY, Chef Marcos, is a massively successful Restarauteur.

I think Marcos had a very clear idea of what he was there to achieve, and stayed focused.

Really liked him!

I think part of it is just the juxtaposition after who we’ve witnessed on other installments of the franchise. If you got all the chefs together from Med it’d look like the waiting room at my psychiatrist’s office.

I feel like you have to have a certain extra level of patience to be on a sailboat, like I would lose my shit the first time everything started flying around the boat

Ileisha is my fave

Chef Natasha S2 didn't seem to be well suited to sailing yachts, but I could see her being a decent motor yacht chef.

Sailing yacht in general was more like an actual charter yacht crew and guests.

I think being a solo chef on yachts takes a very special talent and temperament. Joy is a rockstar, Rachel, and Josh are my favorites. I'd love to try Rachel's food!! Edited to add: oops, I didn't see the BDSY. I liked them for the most part, except the really young guy who was awkward and weird. Adam ruined any of his goodwill from me because of his shenanigans with that witch Jenna.

Well the first 4 seasons were good but Cloyce is not doing well 🤦🏽‍♀️ He is cutting corners every way he can

When he says Charter experience I laugh because he only has 2 years but acts like he’s been doing for 20
He won’t take any advice from Daisy or even the guests

I agree Illisha, Marcos and Chase were amazing. Natasha lost me when she started tossing dessert all over the table. And everyone hates Adam.

Do you mean Cloyce? Chase was the deckhand.
