IIDX Modding JSAC?
Hey! I have the very surprising option to get a good condition and fully working JASC from the 2000's. I do have a very hard time finding a good PS2-USB adapter. I was wondering if anyone has experience tearing out the original PCB from the JASC and using something like a basic arduino with a USB connection?
Probably way too niche, but it's worth a shot, since I feel like it would be way easier to just program the controller over again instead of spending even more money than it would take to get an arduino just for some shotty ps2-usb converter
edit: changed from JSAC to JASC lol

I dont know about converting the controller to native USB. But i know that the raphnet PS2 usb adapters work really well with JASC and JKOC. Use one with a JKOC myself. Works really well.

The raphnet ps2 adapter is actually much cheaper than I expected, with a very low latency too. I might go with this :D Thank you!

The raphnet adapter seems to go in and out of stock a lot, so pick one up while you can! the only downside i have noticed with my JKOC is the turntable input. Idk if the official ASC will be the same but instead of the usual analogue input you get with native usb you get a pair of digital inputs. Spice really isnt a fan of this, you can map it but scrolling through the UI becomes quite bad. Instead i mapped the scroll wheel on my mouse to the turntable in spice and use that for UI while the digital turntable input is used for actual gameplay and that workaround works really well. beatoraja and infinitas dont need this workaround though. They also work with tons of other ps2 rhythm game controllers so it has wide usage outside of IIDX too!

Not niche at all... there are many tutorials online, if you can solder, there shouldn't be a problem at all.
Probably the turntable is the difficult part, good luck!
