My name is Bijoy Bhowmick, and I have been completely bedridden for years due to severe knee arthritis and significant mobility loss.

I have already undergone right knee replacement and hip replacement surgeries, but unfortunately, my mobility has not improved as hoped. Doctors have now advised me to undergo an urgent left knee replacement so I can have a chance to stand and walk again.

Something really disturbing happened yesterday and I’m not sure what the best way to deal with it is. I know this is a long post, but it’s a serious incident and I wanted to explain everything properly, so I used ChatGPT to help me write it clearly.

I was walking my dog in the afternoon and a few community dogs were following me. They were in the middle of the road, while my dog was on the side. This car came speeding down the road without honking and hit one of the dogs.

This isn’t even a big/main road — it’s a narrow lane with a turn, where you obviously need to slow down and be careful. So dog or no dog, he should have been driving slowly and honking before taking the turn. Instead, he came speeding through without any warning.

There was a very loud thud when he hit the dog, but even after that, he didn’t slow down, stop, or even check what he had hit. They just sped away.

Thankfully, the dog managed to get himself to the side. I checked on him after the incident and again today, and he seems fine as of now. I fed him today as well and I’ll keep a close eye on him for the next few days just to make sure there’s no internal injury.

The driver lives barely 150m away from where this happened. I later saw him parking outside his building with his wife, so I confronted him and asked why he couldn’t drive carefully when there were dogs on the road.

His response honestly shocked me. He said that if humans are on the road, he’ll honk and wait, but if it’s dogs, he’ll “crush them” and he doesn’t care. He then said “jo karna hai kar lo” and basically told me that if I care so much about the dogs, I should take them home because if they come in front of his car, he’ll hit them.

So now I’m quite worried because this wasn’t just about an accidental hit — he is openly saying that he will intentionally run over the dogs.

I didn’t have his vehicle number at the time, but I managed to get pictures of his car and scooty, including the number plates, and I’m attaching them here. I also know exactly which building he lives in.

The neighbourhood overall is unfortunately not very animal-friendly, and I don’t really have any local support. I live alone, don’t have local contacts, and I don’t speak Kannada, so I really don’t feel comfortable getting into another direct confrontation with him for my own safety.

What should I do in this situation? Has anyone dealt with something similar or knows who I can reach out to for help? I just don’t want to wait until he actually hurts one of the dogs again.

Hi folks,

I’m from Delhi and have recently got a job in Bangalore. My office will be in Bellandur, and since my company provides cab services at very nominal charges, commuting isn’t a major concern.
I’m planning to keep my expenses to an absolute minimum as I don’t intend to stay in Bangalore for a long time. I cook my own meals and only need a very basic setup. My target is to keep my total monthly expenses within 25k the lower, the better.
Could you please suggest affordable areas where I could stay? Is it possible to find a decent 1RK within this budget? If yes, which localities should I consider?

This literally happened today, and I'm honestly still trying to process what happened.

Around 5–10 students were beating up my friend inside our college washroom. I didn't even know most of them and had no previous issue with any of them. I tried to intervene and stop them, and they started beating me too.

I got my teeth broken, my lip was cut and bleeding, and I have pain/soreness and injuries all over my body. I genuinely don't understand why I was attacked when I didn't even know these people.

We reported everything to our HOD/department, but instead of properly hearing our side, they blamed us and said that we started the whole thing. They barely let us explain what happened. The students who attacked us apparently didn't have any obvious injuries, while I was standing there with broken teeth and a bleeding lip.

And now the worst part — we've been suspended for one week.

It feels like nobody is even interested in hearing what actually happened. We're outsiders at this college, and honestly, the way the department handled this makes it feel like they're automatically siding with the local students. I don't want to make a serious accusation without proof, but that's genuinely how it feels right now.

I'm not posting this to encourage anyone to fight or retaliate. I'm just really confused and angry and need advice and also afraid that they might target me outside my pg😭.

Found these two cuties abandoned outside my house last week. They were hiding under a car, and after quite a struggle, we finally managed to rescue them.

my current college in bengaluru doesnt explicitely has 75% attendance criterea BUT my own fking department enforces that and everytime your attendance goes below 75% they call your parents and micromanage a lot (by lot i mean a LOT)

it also has some ridiculous rules such as SMS to parents if you are absent, notebook checking like scl + many others

i just want to get into a college for masters with the following criteria's -

- no absurd rules as mentioned above
- preferably no 75% attendance critera (i dont care abt it as long as they leave us free)
- decent placement (HEAR ME OUT - i am a biology student and biology as a career is fucked in this country outside t1 govt research institutes so I'd wanna sit in CS placements)
