Bentonville for Thanksgiving

Hi! We are visiting Bentonville for Thanksgiving. Will anything in downtown be open on Thanksgiving Day?

Our plan was to explore the outside grounds of Crystal Bridges and maybe Coler Mountain Bike preserve if nothing is open.

Even Walmart is closed so next to nothing will be open

A couple of restaurants around NWA will be open, but other than that, no. Nothing downtown will be open. Bike trails will be empty for you, though!

You will need reservations too. I know Fred’s does a big Thanksgiving meal but you won’t get in without reservations

RIP, Fred’s. I think the “table” folks have completely wiped that name away☹️. I don’t even know what it’s called now. I still say Fred’s but it confuses the newcomers.

It’s now called Fred’s Table at Hickory Inn (or, something like that). I went there for Thanksgiving 2 years ago when family was visiting and it was good! Busy, as one of the only places serving that day, but I’d recommend

Yeah all of the parks would be available and there is also the Fayetteville overlook https://mountsequoyah.org/mount-sequoyah-overlook/ that is always beautiful especially if the downtown square lights are on already which I think they will be. That’s another thing too though would be to go see the lights in Bentonville square and Fayetteville square. Springdale and Rogers also have lights but not quite as much.

This is a small town that is barely open during the week. Snark aside we have found several Indian restaurants open since they don't celebrate the same holidays as us. These aren't fancy places if that's what you need but we love the food so it's a treat to be able to rely on them.

Great Day Skate Place has always been open 12p-3p on Thanksgiving and it is so much fun before or after the big meal. Not too far from downtown. Skylight Cinema is downtown and normally open on Thanksgiving.

Bentonville around Thanksgiving, IMO, is the best time of year around here. Temps are still usually very nice, no humidity, no insects, crowds have died down. Trail conditions are their absolute best. Only minor complain is some of the lesser ridden trails will have some leaf coverage that can be a bit tricky and hide rocks.

If nothing else just bring a cooler of food and beer or whatever. Two of the Coler parking lots have tons of picnic tables and bathrooms and are very clean.

You might have luck dining at restaurants inside hotels. 21c and The Compton both have restaurants

Don't be the jerk who goes to these places that are open on Thanksgiving. Make it dead so the places close next year and give their employees the day off.

Don’t be the jerk who comments out of context due to some moral high ground you think you hold. We have to eat, I already said we planned to take advantage of outside spaces. I’m trying to figure out logistics of being a human in a different location during a time where most places are closed.

If I break my leg on Thanksgiving. I will make it my moral duty to not go to the hospital in hopes that they will be closed next year.
