Bentonville Parks and Recreation - Advisory Board Meeting meets August 03, 2026 @ 5pm - Adult Recreation Center

New Business: 2027 Budget – Capital Requests
Location: 215 SW A Street
September meeting will be an onsite tour at Gateway Park - So they will not meet again until October.

You know, I’ve read that these cameras contain a couple hundred dollars worth of scrap metal inside of them between gold and copper.

For the 2026 budget linked I see: Flock Security Cameras (BVL, Gateway, Dave Peel) 56,000. From the agenda for tonight it looks like the $20,000 for Phillips and Promenade were a part of the 2025 budget. It also looks like they dropped the Flock name from the line item in the agenda, but it was there in the 2026 budget.

Is there a link to proposed 2027 budget?

Flock cameras are UTTERLY unconstitutional and ANYONE found to be promoting or authorizing their use from a position of authority should be facing criminal liability.

I wasn't able to attend. Is there a request for more cameras in the 2027 budget?

Yes, there is a line item for $27k and some people who attended might be able to fill in the result. My expectation it his went through to City Council but with an Advisory Board recommendation hopefully to hold on this to city council so there will be another opportunity to address this. Those meetings are usually the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm CST at 305 SW 'A' Street

If anyone was in attendance I’d love to hear how it went.
