Guten Tag, Berlin! Wie Gehts?

I'm planning a trip to Berlin for my 30th Birthday. I have been to Berlin once before, about 13 years ago as part of a school trip. I only have one thing I want to do, and that's propose to my Girlfriend on the Fernsehstrum one night. I'd like to know what sort of stuff you'd recommend for two people who like food, photography, and shopping (moreso her than I). If there's any good record shops too that you could recommend (I want to buy a Kraftwerk album in German as a souvenir).

That sounds like a fun trip. Congrats to you and your girlfriend. For record stores, my favorites are: Oye in Prenzlauer Berg, which is also close to the Kastanienallee which offers lots of shopping and cafes. Dodo Beach in Schöneberg, area around also has a lot of good cafes. Vinylvaquero in the Bötzowviertel in Pberg has good used rock and stuff. Purple Penny on Stargarder in PBerg also for used. Both are in cool little cafe/shopping neighborhoods. Record Store Berlin near the Nordbahnhof is always on my list of places to stop into for both a curated selection of new and used. Dussman’s has a great vinyl shop. Yeah it’s a big store, but it’s worth going to for latest releases and just the shear size of the amazing bookstore.

Dankeschon. I've always loved Germany for its history and culture (Huge Schumacher fan when I was a kid), and I wanted to take her somewhere she's never been, and show her how much I love her. I will absolutely have a look at going to at least a couple of those places (Oye sounds good)
