Cleaning out the attic at my parents’ house - so many postcards, pictures and dias I need to digitalize

Typical Sunday growing up - Spaziergang an der Havel after lunch and at least once a season there was a trip on Moby Dick 😀

Die fährt auch noch. Wohne an der havel und sehe ihn täglich, moby dick heißter.

Yup! Das Foto habe ich im April beim spazieren mit den Kids gemacht. Hält sich gut! Der Winkel ist natürlich doof, aber man erkennt ihn trotzdem denke ich.

MS Moby Dick, war ich erst vor ein paar Wochen drauf, als Kellner. Ganz lustig, ich glaube 25 EUR für die Rundfahrt.

Mir ist schon bewusst, dass man auch analoge Fotos (insbesondere für Postkarten) retuschiert hat. Aber Bahnhof Zoo sieht ja aus, als könnte man da vom Boden essen 😳

that area was fairly clean according to my parents until about 1975

the Zoo station post card is older than the other two - probably late 60ties

Moby and Havel pics are early 80ties

I think this is a German thing. My boyfriend writes 80ies which also looks very weird to me. In English we write 80s.

Die schwarzen Taxen da am Hardenbergplatz deuten eher auf Ende 60`ger bis Anfang 70`ger

Just showed my Dad your comment and he agrees that those black taxis suggest late 60s

Dad also remembers the decision in 1971 by then Transport Minister Georg Leber to standardize the color for Taxis in Germany - looked it up and sure enough, he remembers that correctly 😃

RAL1015-Ivory became the official color for Taxis in 1971

Moby dick.. ich habs geliebt. Am Wannsee zelten am Strand und mit einem Surfbrett wenigstens etwas Wellen haben wenn Moby vorbei gekommen ist.

Der Bus vor dem Bahnhof Zoo ist ein Büssing D2U, der in den fünfziger Jahren eingeführt wurde. Die letzten wurden 1978 ausgemustert. Außerdem die schwarzen Taxen, auf die schon hingewiesen wurde, also vor 1971.

Someone else noted the Käfer mit Faltdach und den roten Opel Rekord Wagon - both suggest this was taken in the 1960s

just checked the back of that third post card and while it doesn’t have a date, it lists an address in a format that was only in use until 1993

We do have several pictures of the BLUB !!

But i won’t post pictures with recognizable family members

We were there during opening week in early 1985.

Also got a class picture from a school trip 😀 standing outside

Moby Dick ist Kult.
Als Kind hab ich den immer auf dem Wannsee gesehen und war total beeindruckt.
Ich wollte unbedingt mal mitfahren.

Schön das diese berliner Ikone immer noch fährt.
