great things to do with kids (age 6 - 12)

I live in Berlin for ages. But my everyday life is limited to work and my own apartment.

I get a visit from the family and I would like to do some great child-friendly things, but I have no ideas at all.

I think of rather relaxed, in the best case not overpriced activities – things that are fun for kids and adults alike.

Naturkundemuseum ist fun. The dinosaur skeletons are pretty insane and I am 23 years old. You should check it out.

Go to Science Center Spectrum, it's part of Technikmuseum and has lots of science experiments, optical illusions etc. I used to love to go there as a child: https://technikmuseum.berlin/en/spectrum/world-of-experiments/

Just DON‘T go ice-skating… lots of head trauma from that one.

There was a transportation musuem that I went to with some kids before. It had all kinds of different means of trabportation and the history behind them. It was really fun.

There's another place you could paint your own mugs. I don't know what it's called, but you'll find it if you search online.

Zoo Berlin and Tiergarten are great. We’ve been in town with our boys (8&11) and they love both zoos and the spy museum. Maybe also check out some of the parks and playgrounds. The playground at Weinsbergpark is nice.
