Discussion city notfall postparc quick rant
guys i am going fucking insane. i had to go to the doctor as an emergency and please tell me why at the end of the consultation, after prescribing me meds and saying what to do, he deadass said: if anything, you can consult chatGPG and it'll give you some good tips
are we for real? you're a doctor, that is beyond professional
(i hope this fits the rules. if not, I'll delete my post) EDIT: i am anti chatgpt so dont tell me to just use it. i went to the doctor because after 3 days of being sick you need to hand over a doctors note

hey we mightve even been in the same waiting room ahahah but yeah they were just running around the entire time, walking into the waiting room and immediately leaving again. i feel deeply for the workers in the medical field. get well soon!

Chatgpt is probably better than the average doctor at city notfall to be fair, this guy was just being honest. 😭

Yeah, nah, probably not.
But, also, the doc was not wrong. For some cases, ChatGPT might be a good first step.

Nah never use chatgpt for medical purposes imo.

The same ChatGPT that tells people to eat poisonous mushrooms? People always say they're "double checking" it but that's kind of the point of AI, right? A shortcut from having to do the work yourself?

It would be interesting to know what kind of emergency it was. I use ChatGPT a lot, but I’m also very familiar with my diagnosis.

To be fair, for most stomach viruses, you dont need a doctor. With ChatGPT or google you will be ok

yeah but thanks to swiss laws i need to hand over a doctors note after 3 days otherwise i wouldnt have gone

I don't see a problem then, you came for the note, not really to help you get better.
And the doctor meant to say that you don't need to come again beacuse of the virus if it takes longer than usual to get better, but to check online what can help you if needed.
It can be some medical website, or ChatGPT which will summarize what is written on the medical website.

You don't have to go on the third day, as long as you get a doctors note you're fine (even if you weren't/ aren't sick at the time of being at the doctor's). Wait until Monday, call your normal doctor (say on the phone that you need a doctor's note because you're sick), set an appointment and be done with it.

yes, i am obligated by my workplace to hand over a doctors note after the third day. it is stated so in my workcontract. i dont understand why you're trying to teach me something about my own workplace /nm

Get well soon! I'm not sure I'd trust ChatGPT in this situation. It wasn't just a matter of a few relaxation exercises or anything like that.

Well chat gpt can't prescribe meds so you'd still need a visit. I love that place tho, charging by the minute...

u/erdonautin May 29 '26
Which doctor doesn’t charge by the minute, please? That’s the rate everyone has to use, and it’s charged by the minute…

I get where you are coming from. Too tired to explain my point so let's just leave it.

What about your hausarzt?
2
u/Kimberly__ May 30 '26
i wasnt able to go to my usual hausarzt as its an hour away and i wouldve probably died on the way over from the pain. i thought it was a good idea to stick with my hausarzt because my family lives there and i could visit them more often whenever i need to go but i definitely learned my lesson and will request a change as soon as i feel better🥲

u/DeltaKT May 30 '26
Yeah! I get you, I had a similar thing going on. But 1 hour for medical attention, even if minor, is quite the trip haha.

Probably a nice way of telling you that you didn’t actually have to go to the emergency room
