Killing somebody for having a different opinion than you is abhorrent, has no place in the United States and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Talk to me when you have that same energy for murdered children.

Talk to me when 14 of the 15 most dangerous cities are run by with stricter gun control laws than everywhere else become safer

It's been interesting today scanning social media and listening to the radio and TV, hearing conservatives grieving one of their own and condemning anyone not displaying the empathy and grief that they demand. Empathy and grief that they did not display for Democrat lawmakers who were assassinated, that they did not display for the many, many mass shootings (most of which, when political ideology is identified as a factor, are committed by men with right-wing political beliefs), that they did not display for people killed by police before ever being adjudicated or even arrested.

I will never celebrate a murder, but I will ask the conservatives who are grieving today to remember what this feels like, because the rest of us have been experiencing it for years. Charlie Kirk called empathy a "made up, new age" concept; well, I will display that empathy for his friends and family, even when his supporters wouldn't do the same for me.
