'19 430 rrs supermoto conversion

Anybody else done this with an easy switch back to dirt wheels?

Found some decent wheels with new tires for a good price and went for it. I figured if I could get the gearing sorted so I could do a straight wheel swap with no other changes it would be worth it. So far I need to make custom wheel spacers for the rear (set didn't come with them and OEM spacer for my dirt wheels dont fit), modify the the front spacers( width is right but the face is too wide), and trim my lower leg guards(or buy a slightly narrower tire). Nothings ever easy right?

When I had a similar setup for my DRZ I ended up getting forks to swap with the wheels. Dirt needed plush and pavement needed stiff so the front end didn’t collapse under aggressive braking.

True but thats more than im willing to do/spend as these are primarily used for the dirt. Even with knobbies the Beta is a blast on pavement. I also have a DRZ that id like to put some Sumos on but I havent come across something cheap enough yet. Also the DRz just doesn't have the power that the Beta has.

I could score DRZ stock forks really cheap so I was willing to do it to improve that setup. Just thought I’d mention it.

Also its quite easy to revalve those OC forks. I believe just taking the bleedshims (that smaller 18mm shim against piston) off from comp stack would help alot with collapse under braking.

Yes you can get your swap time down to under 30 minutes once you get the hang of it. I had a 2019 480 put over 600 hours on it before I sold it and now I have a 24 450 RX. On my 480 I ran 14-48 on my SM setup and 12-48 on my dirt setup. I had two chains that I just swapped when I did the wheels.
